Quite simply you don't become the manager of a club like Man City unless you are one of the top managers in the world. Pellegrini has bags of experience at the very top of club football. He's a big step up from Koeman. Plus he has a good knowledge of the Prem, and he's a nice bloody bloke.

Yup I catch your drift. I think a good plan for fonte would be to stay on as defensive coach and learn his trade, then set him loose to manage his own team ie lower league in Portugal. When hes ready future saints manager.
I don't think what gigs is doing is really helping his potential managerial career. Ie hanging around playing 2nd fiddle.

There was a time when the ladies would say that to me, but they wouldn't have called me Fats then :(

Are we really in with a chance of getting Pellegrini? How far have we come as a club when names of the calibre of Pellegrini are mentioned

I still have classic "Saints Fan Brain" - my first thought about Pellegrini was "well, I can be fairly confident we won't get relegated under him".

Even in my football heyday, "quick" wasn't a term used for me :(

It may have been used in other activities that is true. In the words of that American comedy show..

Can we stop all this chatter about fats and his small things please.
Pellegrini will do a job for saints that's for sure if he is genuinely interested.

Ok I'm getting excited about pelegrini now. There must be many good players who flourished under him who we could tempt to the club.

Auguero? Maybe I'm getting carried away now...

Maybe the young striker will be upset with the new strikers being signed ahead of him?

Was only thinking this morning IF he was to become our new manager would he be able to have an influence on this man ...............Manchester City full-back Pablo Zabaleta, 31, looks set to end his time at the club as the Argentina international is ready to listen to offers from other clubs.
