    GK
    Harper
    Forster
    Krul

= Not bad. Youth with Experience. Strenght in depth. Rating - 4/5

    LB
    Enrique
    Ferguson
    ...Kadar..?

= Enrique is obviously going. Any other player who is seen as a LB is too young and inexperienced to play week in, week out. Rating - 1/5

    RB
    Simpson
    Raylor

= Simpson far too inconsistent. Cant really defend. Raylor much the same, although does produce creativity on occasions. Rating - 2/5

    CB
    Collocini
    Saylor
    Williamson

= All 3 good on their day. Collocini most reliable, yet more than capable of looking very dodgy indeed. No cover if a couple get injured or suspended. Rating 3/5

    CM
    Tiote
    Cabaye
    Gosling
    Barton (if needed)

= Strongest part of the team. Tiote solid as a rock, yet gets a lot of suspensions. Cabaye will provide creativity. Gosling unknown, altho looked half decent in pre-season. Barton solid. Rating 4/5

    Wingers/Wide Midfielders
    Ben Arfa
    Marveaux
    Jonas
    Barton

= Pace, skillful, creative, injury prone, consistency issues (as all wingers are). Should provide enough ammunition and, dare I say, guile. Not bad. 3.5/5

    Strikers
    Ba
    Ameobi
    Best
    Ranger
    Lovenkrands

= Unreliable, Inconsistent, Injury prone, flash of talents, lack of strength and cutting edge. Rating = 2/5

Money made this since 31 January - in transfers (roughly, cant be bothered with every penny)

    Carroll sale = £35m, Nolan = £4.5m, Routledge £2m.

    Money spent

    Cabaye = £4.5m, Ba = (£4m in fees?), Marveuax = (£2mil in fees)

    Wages in a nut shell.

Carroll off £35k, Nolan off £50k, Campbell off £40k, Routledge off £20k?.

Tiote on extra £30k, Cabaye on £40k?, Marveaux on £30k?, Ba on £35k?

    Prospective income

Jose Enrique = £10mil ish plus £50k off wage bill.

    Basically, as im getting irratable.

We have an average looking squad. With around £50mil to spend....sorry, shud have to spend unless it has been wasted on undersoil heating and tarmac (different issue).

Will we invest this money in improving this average squad, below average defence, below average attack.....? No.

According to Pardew we will/hope to bring in one more player. just one. at a fee around £7m. will prob be a striker.

    Had enough now.

Basically. We are gonna be ****ed when push comes to shove next year as we stand. And we arent prepared to do anything about it. Even though we have got the means to do it for the first time in donkeys years.

    Farcical.

    Bring on next season......

Cross out Forster, not good enough as today proved. Young Sodenberg is a better bet for No. 3 choice.

Good luck getting Ash to part with any of that cash. More chance of teaching a dog to speak Chinese. Bottom line we need a striker and a left back (minimum) to avoid getting into serious trouble this season. If we don't get both of those things, well then Ash better be prepared to take a loss again the following season

Ha, forgot about Perch.....wud bring it down.

I failed to mention we will/could/should make a modest amount of money on selling the Deadwood like Perch, Smith, Xisco and a like.

But im talking to a brick wall/preaching to the choir/getting blood out of a stone........?!?!? Something!!

There are ****ty assessments like this every day.

Nobody of power is reading it, and although it is your opinion, there are threads which you can post your opinion already.

Wait until the end of the transfer window before complaining about lack of signings ;)

He's fit now though, and is better than Tavernier (not a dig at Tav), and better than Raylor or Jonas at LB.

Look on the bright side, the more Money 'He-Who-Is-Fat' keeps, the closer he plods to the exit. And then we can have an awab man :D or Shepard.

If all you're going to do is be pessimistic, why bother coming onto this site? Or even, why do you bother supporting a team?

If you have a proper opinion on something, share it. Otherwise, keep your whining and moaning to yourself.

Pardew has said only 1 more signing which any idiot could tell you isn't enough, something seriously wrong.

This article isnt pessimism. Its a look at our squad and what means we have to do improve. Just because we have a squad that isnt good enough, doesnt mean it's pessimistic. Its REALISTIC. If we signed some players to add to this mediocre squad then the 'ratings' would go up.

Why do so many fans confuse realism with pessimism. Are you in denial? Do you not realise our poor areas? I even mention in the article we have strong areas ie Midfield.....is that pessimism..?

Ur an idiot. Wake up. Get Real.
