Throw the people a bone and their happy enough.

I read a guy saying that the Easter Rising wasn't necessary (not irishing the thread up) as the people of Sheffield were as poor as the people of Dublin.

That's the mindset of some people.

    We've been over this before.

The UK is a generous nation, but that generosity is being stretched to breaking point. And whether that's because the politicians are hiding it or spending it on wars doesn't matter; we only have so much to give, but surely it is better to give to those who need it the most.

It's senseless to think we can help everyone when we clearly can't. If we could, that would be superb, yet the reality is a somewhat grimmer picture.

A generous nation? The people travelling from EU countries do so because they have a right to do so. It's part of the deal that binds us to the EU and brings enormous economic benefits with it. Most of the EU people coming here do so to work - not to claim benefits as the right wing press would have us believe. They work and pay taxes. There's been countless studies that prove this point.

The country is not stretched to breaking point - that is just the great lie told to us by rich newspaper owners, media barons and their cohorts. The reason they want us out of the EU is so they can have even more power to **** us over and take our money.
