What a loss. Such a bright force for the future snuffed out by the politics of hatred. Stunned that that could happen here.

A senseless waste of life, as are all incidents like this - whatever happened to the days when Britain really was ´Great´ - shameful!

Tragic, a tireless worker, charitable, compassionate and a mother of two young kids (3 and 5).
Any vacancies in Denmark, RBF - I've just about had enough of this ****hole of a country of ours :(

Such a senseless waste of life and I really don't understand what drove her assailant to commit such a horrendous crime.
Apparently, she had a terrific career ahead of her as an MP and was a leading light in Oxfam before being elected to the House of Commons.

There are many sources that claim that these headlines are very misleading and the guy who did the shooting was not in any way motivated by politics of any sort. I would suggest reading as much as possible before making a judgement.

This might open your eyes a little to what might be going on.

It's not a case of exploiting her murder, but rather that the Brexit campaign rely upon creating a nationalistic, jingoistic, flag waving mood in the country - mostly focussed upon creating the myth that we are being swarmed by an alien culture and that this is the fault of the EU. a constant dose of xenophobic propaganda + the warped mind of a lunatic = a problem.

There are two sides reported, people will take from both whatever they want from them.

So we either believe well respected, national media sources, or some David Icke-a-like video you've dredged up from amongst all the other nutbars on Youtube.

I would suggest that unless you actually witnessed it or the person reported shouting Britain First, you cannot know what is true so any judgement is not properly founded.

There's a police accredited witness, right now on BBC news saying he definitely heard the words "Britain first" shouted. Why would he need to lie about that?

Good for them - but that was not in the paper report that was being discussed. I dare say there will be much more to come from both sides which will make it interesting and near impossible to know the "Real" truth.

I don not trust the police these days, although that is not entirely their fault as they have been under government pressure to "sweep things under the carpet" in recent years. As for the media - they never have an agenda do they?

If he had shouted Allah Akhbar instead there would have been thousands of witnesses ready to testify and over 10 national newspapers prepared to report it as fact.

What are you trying to say? The UK is anti-Islam?

If there were also witnesses saying no such thing was said, you have to remain on the fence until evidence is as solid as it can be either way - that is basically what I am trying to say.

Newspapers are more than happy to sensationalise a story to sell papers and sometimes to favour a political agenda, that cannot be denied, especially stories that demonise parties on the more extreme right of the political spectrum. Look at the crap UKIP and Nigel Ferange had to put up in the early days, accused of being far right extremists by government and government supporting media. They were all wrong as it turned out.

I agree that you have to wait on the fence, however, the alternative is to believe that the only assassination ever of a politician in this country, just before such a referendum, and against the backdrop of a flag waving nationalism, was pure coincidence. Brexit have built more or less their entire campaign around propagating the idea that Eastern European immigration is a threat to the entire social fabric of this country (although the entire EU. population of the UK. is only 3.6% of the population - the Polish 600,000, and Bulgarian and Rumanian together around 300,000) - most other Western European nations have far more. This is pure scapegoating in the best right wing extremist traditions.
