I can see I'm going to have to put an end to all the speculation. You we're all wrong of course. I am in fact a... Nah, I've changed me mind.
Tony Xia has now said he expects to win the Champions League within ten years. Someone needs to have a word.
Weren't we moaning the other day that we don't show any ambition? Who cares if they don't win the CL in the next ten years? If that ambition leads them to becoming a decent PL club then that can only be a good thing for their supporters.
If 8 years ago, as Lester slipped into the third tier for the first time in their history, their owners had said that they could win the Champions League within a decade people would've **** their pants. I dont think they will win it next season, but it's not ridiculous to suggest they might.
Who honestly cares if it means the team goes out and tries to win and sign good players? Hell Assem wanted to see us in the Champions League and his spending in the 14/15 off-season reflected that he wanted the club to keep improving. Leicester's owners wanted them Top 5 in three years and everyone laughed. Was that delusion?
Honestly? I still can't get my head around Liecester winning the Prem. So to my mind, the Liecester owners were delusional, yes.
We don't currently know who our manager will be next season, until we do, there won't be any genuine transfer news on this thread. Last summers transfer thread was 677 pages, so I estimate at least 300 arguments before there's a genuine transfer story.
There are no new owners. A ruse to get people to buy memberships. It worked. Carry on regardless. Steve Bruce comes back fully refreshed and two stone lighter (hopefully). We sort out the budget and buy 3 forwards, a CM, Robbie Brady and the Chezz.
There definitely are prospective new owners. It's just whether Ehab will release his grasp on the prestige of owning a football club.
I wouldnt bet against Ehab still been in charge unless theres a ridiculous offer. What do you base that on anyway?
