Just to add fuel to your fire, ILD, I think Naismith will be a big player in our promotion push. :emoticon-0105-wink:

You may be right, but he hasn't shown anything for us so far and I'm not holding my breath.

Hundreds of our fans said just the same as you about Iwan before his second season, you should maybe temper your comments before they bite your bum! <yikes>

At the very least, he scored a good goal against Liverpool and had a good game against Watford after recovering from injury. He was also singled out on MotD for his ability to create space and movement going forward, as well as his defensive contribution, but you're right the proof will be in his performances next season. Hopefully, Dave's comparison with Iwan will prove apt. ;)

One goal, 1 reasonable game against a very poor Watford and a mention on MOTD, doesn't equate to £8m price tag imo. I've said it before, he's taking a holiday with us and his final payday.

Sorry, but I'm with ILD on this one. When you pay in excess of eight million pounds for an attacking player you expect goals and assists. He hasn't delivered. A player of his experience shouldn't have needed any time to 'bed-in'.

Even if he has a good season in the FL, the price we paid for him implied he was supposed to keep us up. He failed.

Waste of money, he's past his best, which frankly was never much good.

I still think Naismith is a good player, I hope he'll do well for us in the up and coming season. Also in other news...

I'm okay with Jerome, he always puts in a full 90 minutes, just wish he's find the net a bit more often, the Championship will suit him.

Can't possibly be true. The Club is in crisis, the roof is about to fall in and the players are all trying to leave the sinking ship!!!

Quite frankly just mentioning Naismith in the same sentence as Iwan is an insult to the big fella <ok>

And in most others, has looked distinctly average, drifted out of the game altogether or looked about as interested as Sibierski used to! <yikes>
Sorry, but I'm with ILD on this one, RvW marque 2 :(

If Naismith turns up to pre-season minus a few front teeth, I'll start to believe.

I agree that Naismith fell well short of the mark this season, but I'm willing to give him a second chance next season, but as far as I'm concerned he's drinking in the last chance saloon with AN and others. Last orders for me would be 10 to 12 weeks after the season starts.

    I can understand the disappointment
That's fair enough, CC. Most of us had hoped for more from Naismith, but then it can't be easy to slot into a new team for the last months of a relegation battle. Given a full pre-season to build up playing relationships and understanding, he should be able to contribute far more in a Championship season. I look forward to much more attacking football and more goals from all concerned. Also really pleased that Jerome has signed a new contract and hopefully he and Naismith will build a strong partnership.

I think that's a perfectly fair assessment, and about where I stand. Barring a truly terrible summer (mass exodus of talent, no signings, etc) then the current set-up will have until the beginning of December before I start to get trigger happy. If by then we're not at least in the play-offs, then I think we should look to make changes.
