Seems daft to go somewhere hot to train for a league that's largely played during an English winter, especially during the warmer periods here.
A lot of overseas teams seem to be using St Georges Park for preseason, it just seems the done thing to go somewhere overseas and different weather to what you are used too.
A lot of it is team bonding so the players don't just do their 90 mins or so and **** off home or to where ever you go to spend the rest of your day
I think it's just to get your fitness up? If you can hit the figures in the heat then they know you're ok when it's cool!
I think its a strong indication of Bruce staying. He always takes his teams there. most managers have a prefered place to do pre season( didnt Browmie usually go to italy), bruce likes portugal. As others have said, training for short intence bursts in the heat is great for fitness, and been away is better for team building.
Why would they need to get away from your missus? I hope we don't read about it in the tabloids before you've told us first.
