Interesting deal though as it is suggested it's a 50/50 ownership deal with a view to purchasing the other 50% in 2 years. Clearly not allowed in Britain but Italy? Mark - Paredes is Right sided player while this guy is left. If we do go 3-5-2 as predicted then certainly Paredes will be a good squad player for that formation. Don't think the new guy will be 1st choice either; I think he will be U21 plus squad.
If the FA decide to charge us, we could point out that Udinese are the ones that own the 50% stake and they have chosen to loan him to us. Assuming that permission was also sought from the selling club for them to do that, we have not broken any rules. If it wasn't, and the FA try and punish us by deducting points, we can refer to the Tevez/Mascherano case, and only(!) be fined.
There's a rumour that we have lodged an £8m bid for this guy - and may have to fight Sunderland for him. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neven_Subotić
Neven Subotic - Dortmund defender or 8 million has been a rumour on Twitter. Probably just that but be some coup.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Biabiany We've been linked with this guy too. It seems as though various agents are going into overdrive...
Hopefully this one has been put to bed... http://www.wdsport.co.uk/2016/06/exclusive-watford-reject-leicester-city-bid-for-troy-deeney/
Not sure if this one is going to go to bed. I thought Leicester's original idea was to play Vardy and Troy together. If Vardy goes, then I can't work out if they will be more or less likely to want Troy. Then there's the whole thing of Troy being THE man and staying v his head being turned by Chamions League. It's doing my head in just thinking about it all!
Good post under the Wobby article re: the 'bid'. Got it spot on: 'Two years ago maybe, but with the fat end of 200m coming our way this season, it shouldn't be anywhere near tempting. Unless of course TD9 wants to go (in which case good luck to you mate, you've done us proud) or Mr. Pozzo decides 15m is a good price for a player of his age. There's something special about our boy Troy that money just can't buy. Legendary.'
I would have thought Troy would have been an upgrade on Ulloa/Okazaki and certainly not a replacement for Vardy. If he goes I would have thought buying another quick/skilful striker would be a higher priority.
Troy will probably want to see who comes in and what the new manager is like before making any decision - he won't rush to leave.
This was on Twitter.. They are all Napoli players with the former working under Walter in his time there. #Udinese confirm “one out of Christian Maggio (Right back), Mirko Valdifiori (attacking midfielder) and Juan Camilo Zuniga (attacking full back for Columbia) could well go to #WatfordFC .”
