As I said earlier, I'm sure part of the compo package will include no approach for saints players for at least 2 Windows. Think the same was done with mopo?

I'm sure someone else has already said this on here but why shouldn't I too [it makes me feel big and clever :emoticon-0102-bigsm ].

I believe Koeman was not universally thought to be a good appointment for Saints and Claudio Ranieri gave more than one or two other team's supporters a laugh when he was assigned.

So just because some of us look at Frank De Boer and Andre Villa Boas' previous managerial records. although of course they are relevant, but it doesn't mean that is exactly what they'll do at Saints. How about one of these two proven managers might actually click with Southampton and the players and propel us along the correct path?

I'm not saying they'll win us the title or that we won't struggle at some stage but in all honesty for instance the two I have mentioned are good managers and we certainly shouldn't get too high and mighty about it.

On the other hand it might go completely wrong and we struggle but then again with Koeman in for a third season that might have happened anyway.

Nothing is ever clearcut and dried in football or indeed life..

And easy to leave as soon as the first club offers you a pay rise.

For me, the stakes are being upped every time this happens.... And this is happening a lot...!

The calibre of manager has increased exponentially since the takeover and I see this as a pivotal appointment.... More so than Poch or Ron. Yes, we've scouted and had options up our sleeve, but I suspect that Uncle Les will have had to remember where he left the short list with the way things have turned around in the last 72 hours.

Our target was always Europe, we achieved that and had the right man in place. We need someone that is successful in that type of competition/has the potential to hit the ground running in that competition otherwise getting there was a waste of time.

That would limit the options, in my mind, this partially rules out RdB and most others like Moyes, Neville, etc.

AvB failed at Spurs and has hardly lit up the world since plus Blackmore said earlier on Solent that he wanted to go back to Portugal for family reasons.

Howe isn't for me and I think it would be the wrong move for him.

That would indicate Simeone (pipe dream) and Emery and realistically from those 2, Emery fits the bill in terms of shoe-string (comparatively) having to put up with moving on players and knows the competition.

However, I know that uncle les may well pull a new rabbit from the hat-but to keep players and for continuity, it needs to be fairly big and done quickly.

I'm not giving an opinion as to whether I would have him or not, but I am slightly surprised that Mark Hughes isn't being mentioned a bit more. He's the only other current PL manager, alongside Howe, who I could potentially see us going for - if we were to change tact, and stay at home.

Amazed that you can get as little as 16/1 on Simeone. Surely no-one would spend their cash on those odds.

Seems clever and well thought out, but in reality with people like Victor, we need a bidding war just to break even. I'd take Evertons stupid money for him, especially if it involves Spurs getting annoyed.

Is RK the 6th or 7th best manager in the world? No. We can do better without throwing that amount of cash about.

I don't know why, but I'd take a very, very long time to warm to Hughes being a Saints manager. Just don't like the bloke.

Someone should reply that they are looking forward to his picture in the Echo soon.

I think the FDB rumour at St Mary's has arisen from some crappy Twitter photo that just looks like people queuing to get into an evening event at the Stadium, unless Saints rope off the entrance with a red carpet every day.
