Precisely. If you're saying with the first Wembley goal we wouldn't have Diame you can then say a key goal prior to Deano's otherwise he wouldn't be there to score it!
Important to me as it would be the biggest one I've seen in my lifetime, I'm not old enough to remember 66
i guess the first goal in 1850 that made people think 'oh aye this game of kick could go places.. sign me up' ?
It can be as wide or as limited as you like for me. There are so many ways of looking at it, I just thought it'd be interesting to get different opinions. Maybe it should be categorised. I can't be arsed to do it though.
My goal many years ago for Northern Rangers in the Hull Sunday League was vitally important as it lead to circumstances where I met my wife and ended up having 3 kids, the world would be a different place had I not scored that goal
I'd go all the way back to the great escape, can't remember any of the games or goals back then, but turning the tide & us surviving was a huge impact on our history!
Cpl. Luis Fernandez winning goal from a bicycle kick vs the German national team. It changed the course of the war and led directly to the formation of the French resistance during the ensuing pitch invasion....
This extra time winner. Honduras and El Salvador met in a 1970 FIFA World Cup qualifier. There was fighting between fans at the first game in the Honduran capital of Tegucigalpa on 8 June 1969, which Honduras won 1–0. The second game, on 15 June 1969 in the Salvadoran capital of San Salvador, which was won 3–0 by El Salvador, was followed by even greater violence.[5] A play-off match took place in Mexico City on 26 June 1969. El Salvador won the decisive third game 3–2 after extra time. That same day, El Salvador dissolved all diplomatic ties with Honduras, stating that "the government of Honduras has not taken any effective measures to punish these crimes which constitute genocide, nor has it given assurances of indemnification or reparations for the damages caused to Salvadorans". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_War
Surely it was 'Terry Brady's' goal just before half time which was the defining moment in the war, were it not for that the whole team would've buggered off at half time
