Imagine a 5 year old Leaf it'd be like an iPhone 3GS - battery dead in 17 miles, ****ed cos it drove through a puddle.
This is true, battery cells start to die at first use, is the technology in place to replace them as they go?
I'd love a big Yank 1970's heap. Ford LTD, Lincoln Continental, Cadillac Eldorado, Dodge Charger. Something with a huge, **** off V8 7LTR engine that does about 10 MPG.
1964 Triumph TR4 ....wire wheels , webber carburetors ...Fire Engine Red ........ Wish I still had it , fun drive .
The fastest car I ever owned was a Lancia Beta, it went from brand new to a pile of rust in 5 1/2 years.
I've only had 4 motors. Golf GTi Mk II was my first love, at the grand old age of 25. Used to hammer the **** out of it, but she responded brilliantly until the repair costs got too much. driving through the empty streets of London at night was great fun, although i eventually got enough points on my license for a ban. 2 wheels cornering Regents Park at 3am probably tipped the balance. BMW 328 came next. lively straight 6 , but was wiped out crossing a junction, side-on by a Toyota Hilux. That was the end of that. Thank **** he hit the passenger side. A jeep rubicon with git massive wheels whilst in the desert was fun. Then the Saab Aero which i still have, 9 years on. Many a long journey from Prague to the UK, France, the Alps, Croatia, Finland etc and still going strong. So smooth, even at 250kmh on zee Autobahn, not that i get anywhere near that these days..
I have 3 mark 2 GTIs great cars, 8v first, then a 16v, then a 16v big bumper. Loved them cars. Interior was lifting mind haha
Audi RS4 2007, a beast of a car and thirsty as ****, but it put a smile on my face every time i hit the start button.
My first car, something I neglected to state, was a fiat cinquecento. Fun to drive but it was no bird puller! Quickly moved into an Alfa Romeo 3.2l 147 afterwards. That was a great car!
i loved that/those cars, fella. Saw one identical to mine in Amsterdam this week, in fantastic nick, and it got me reminiscing. I only had the 8 valve, but it was fun enough for me.
Felt so quick, 115 break, nowt now! Torquey as **** though, remember me lasses creaming it up Houghton cut undertaking lorries haha
My first car was a '99 Skoda Fabia. I had fairly low expectations of it but was very pleasantly surprised, racked over 30k miles in its first year and no issues. Since then family have lead to me owning a Golf Estate, and going tomorrow to look at a Seat Alhambra as we have a third on the way. Dream car - there's a few but mid-90's Mitsubishi FTO (or possibly GTO) would be ace. Dodge Viper looks the part but everywhere suggests they are a dog to drive at the speeds you are actually allowed to drive them at.
very torquey, hugged the road, but not the fastest. nee good for burglars either. you could hear me coming 3 mile away! growly as owt.
