No matter what TWF thinks about what Adam actually did, we havent had a better owner in my lifetime in terms of engaging with the fans and driving bums on seats.
I'm with you on that - I have nothing but respect for AP, and you know if he came back, there would be bridges built, and there would be clear communication between owners and fans. Just I don't think TWF will see it that way. He was once quite vocal on the subject, I seem to remember.
It's like we are going around in circles! Presumably it isn't him buying the club? We need somebody with some serious cash and as good as AP was, we need investment. I'd take him as a director or something for the financial backers.
He's never really had the money, though, has he? Even in 2001 he was the face of a wealthier backer. If he is involved, then you would assume it would initially as a facilitator, and that he would be hoping for a chief executive post if the takeover comes off. Someone has been out building a war chest, and I would rather it be AP than Duffen.
My main issue with AP (besides him being a pen thief) is he's way out if his depth at PL level. He's had two seasons there and made disastrous managerial changes in both. At lower league level, yes he's a fantastic chairman, but above that he's really not, the God complex kicked in last time and his reign was a disaster frankly. I'm not advocating Duffen either (though I'd choose him over AP), I think we need start afresh. I understand the fear that we need somebody who "knows" Hull City, but I think there's enough good people around the club to get these messages across. Looking to the past isn't always the answer, just look at Liverpool and Newcastle.
I agree with this bit anyway. We need some fresh ideas, if we keep falling on what we know we are never going to go forward.
Got a feeling that no matter who bids for the club Allams will remain,but i would not like to see AP back i remember the lies when he kept repeating the club was not for sale while he sat in the stands in feb that year months before the sale with bartlett and duffen and they was not exactly the best choice to sell to.
You mean when he was trying to get them to invest rather than buy? They wouldn't so he sold us as he knew he couldn't take us any further. I'd have him back. Especially if he was a front for foreign owners.
Anything involving AP would be a retrograde step - his past failures speak for themselves. If we are to have new owners, as seems increasingly likely, then apart from being securely well financed and looking to push Hull City forwards, it is imperative that they are totally fresh and un-influenced by any of the shenanigans that have taken place between some of the supporters and the owners over the last 2 to 3 years.

Adam Pearson ? no thanks. His star has faded since the Nick Barmby fiasco. Also, I don't think that the Allams would accept an IOU or chocolate buttons anyway.
Anyone surprised to see which posters wouldn't want AP back? Apart from being ****ing brilliant for the club and fans, it'd be interesting to see what stance the contrary lot would take if he did come back. Would they become the negative moaning ones under his ownership like the rest of us are now or would they stick to the "everything's always fine/anyone upset about anything at the club is a militant ****er" persona? Either way part of it will have to change.

Very odd, black and white view you have there. I'm a member of HCST, very much in the "Allam out" camp (though it took me a long time to move from the "Allam for the love of god just end the madness" camp) and as you know I'm dead against any form of AP return for the reasons stated above. Again, although I'm dead against AP (he'll sack Steve Bruce, ban Hernandez and then say whatever you want to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside), I think the bigger issue for most people is why are we looking to the past? Do we really not have any foresight and to look further than man who's glory days were in the lower leagues? We're not "little old Hull City" any more, we're the 30th biggest club in the world in terms of income (I think that's right?) and we need people who know what they're doing in a large, global market (whilst also not alienating the core, local market. Allam.). I'm sorry, but I don't really trust a guy who's had two attempts at the PL and failed both times, and is now operating in the tiny market of Rugby League. He'd be out of his depth and if his second run wasn't enough for you to turn on him (and Christ knows why it wasn't) then his third certainly will be. When we're back in the Championship with Dean Windass as manager because "the fans might like that". Don't make me get the ****ing picture out.
I agree with you on that - personally I would rather not go back. I think you've got to keep moving forward. I have no problems with Pearson, personally, I think he did brilliantly in his first stint with us, and I have no major complaints with his second. I think Brown was poorly dealt with on his watch, I think he should either have gone around the Christmas to save our season, or we should have given him until the summer, because it was too late to act. I personally don't think it was Pearson's call to sack Brown though. The finances were already falling apart by that point, and they clearly had been from the moment Bartlett sacked Duffen. I think Bartlett saw the relegation approaching, looked at the bankbook, his nipsy started twitching, then he panicked and told Pearson to just do something; sacking Brown was the last roll of the dice. But I'm going off the point. I would prefer not to go back; but having said that Pearson isn't a billionaire. If he's coming in, he's coming in with friends. They're far more important than Pearson, there is nothing to say he would have a controlling position even if he came back, so whatever we remember of him, whether good or bad, has very little bearing on what a third period at the club would be. The most important thing for me is, he's not Ehab. So he's welcome in my book. I will accept pretty much anyone competent who can give the club a sense of unity. We cannot carry on as we are, or we'll be back in the championship before we know it.
