I'm actually quite excited at the prospect of a new manager getting 64 points next season.

Well I'm assuming your saying I'm flapping over newspaper gossip when I should have faith in the board. Truth is I'm not flapping at all and it is appearing more likely that the newspaper piffle is true and blind faith in the board which you appear to have may be misplaced.

The truth is that it will take years of challenging in and around the top 6 before people start seeing us as that level of club. If anything the last few summers have taught us is how the club is viewed by the rest of the footballing world.

IF Koeman did leave, what would people think of him? Would you see it as a betrayal after going back on his word? Accept his decision and hold no hard feelings? How would you all feel?

I think that's still a bit previous, but it's now looking very likely

No, don't take it personally. Read back through the relevant threads regards Ronald and see who flaps at the merest whiff of newspaper gossip. Then you can see who I'm referring to.

No hard feelings. Koeman made it clear what he was looking for in order to re-sign, namely a much-increased transfer budget. If the board was unwilling (and depending on what exactly Koeman wanted for a transfer budget, being unwilling could have been the only rational option) but Everton was, he's within his rights to go, and it makes far more sense for us to pursue a new manager.

Not going to have a go at Koeman for wanting to go to Everton with a **** load of cash. But if he does go, him going on about how loyal he is kind of shows him up a little.

Worse than Poch, but then I didn't think what Poch did was so terrible. He'll be treated kinder though (for some reason). Ultimately it's business. People get poached, or let down by others, and money talks. As a result, things change.

No hard feelings toward either from me, should it come to pass.

All depends really (probably we will never find out) but if there was a situation where he didn't want to sign a new deal, but did want to see his contract out and Saints made it clear that they didn't want that then you can't really criticise his loyalty if he goes to Everton

The thing that I don't understand about Reeds recent statement, is that, from what he said, it made it sound like the club and Koeman were on the same page moving the club forward, and that we had progressed to the finer points of a new contract. If that was the case, what's changed? Everton coming in with big money? Which would suggest that Koeman is simply moving on for more money. That would be disappointing, especially for a club that has been stagnating for a while now.

Not just a little. It destroys his reputation as an honourable bloke. He said, whatever he did, he would see out his contract, and nothing would change that, unless Southampton sacked him.
