Another player that really wet our appetites and for me really failed to deliver. He was loyal as such, but to lightweight in my opinion How long his left on his current contract, seems we taking another big hit with the sun reporting Torino, 2 mill.
Big loss on what we paid. Wish he'd stayed for long enough to see a good run of games. Obvious quality in abundance which makes it so frustrating. £2m with a year left I think is a good few... albeit £6m less than we reportedly paid More importantly.. another big earner off the books
There's a year left on it, I think he did quite well on loan at Bologna (although he got injured again FFS) so 2 mil is too low for me for a player of his quality. I'd ask for 6.5 mil.
The team Giacc played in wasn't very good. The team now is looking a lot different - Khazri, Kerchhoff, M'Vila, etc., and god knows what it'll look like by August. The question for Sam now isn't what Giacc ever did for us. He needs to ask how would this lad fit into the team I have in mind.
If he has a good Euros then his value will go up. Question is will Sam what to use him or cash in and use the money. For me I think if the price is right, with one year left and at the age of 30, take the money.
Think we got him for six. Got a decent season from him, his form at the end kept us up. I'd let him go for £4m and think of him as neither a success or a failed signing.
Aye if we paid six then I'd take four or five (with any luck), I thought we'd paid a bit more than that but I can't really remember. I don't think he'd fit in well to what I imagine will be quite a physical side that Sam will be putting together and everything he's said recently indicates he wants to stay in Italy. Sell him while we can get a few quid for him I reckon.
Wait till after the Euro's if he does well shark him about for £5million. Shame he didn't work out as ability wise he's right up there with what we've had.
He was when we had him. We signed him off the back of an incredible showing at the confederates cup. We made him ****.
Id be happy if we got 3m for him. We paid 6m for him but he was 2 years younger then with a shorter injury record. I dont think he done himself justice here cause he was constantly played out wide and his favoured role is in the middle as a number 10.
Do you not think he looked like a child in a mans game, I thought he was week as pi55. Like the lad but for me not a premiership player. To be fair we have lost more than 4 mill a player haven't we, graham, fletcher, Johnson etc etc
Add Rodwell to that list cause when he does go itll be for peanuts. It still pains me to think we paid 10m for him .
It's obvious that he's got ability but never really managed to show it often enough for us, injuries and him not really adapting to the physicality of the league probably held him back but that just brushes over him being a bit of flop, if we can only get £2 million for him then we should just take it and cut our losses.
You never know, there might be some mug out there who'll give us almost that for him. We managed it with Wickham somehow. Hopefully Rodwell has shown just enough quality that a club will think "hmm, there's a player in there let's buy him and unlock his potential".
Well be lucky if hes fit for at least half the games next season. Hes made of glass which is why were probably gona be stuck with him for a while.
