I think we can make the quarters. Hopefully England will need us to win our last game for them to go through <whistle>

If that's the case then probably best we lose because we would have embarrassed ourselves in the previous 2 games!

In my prediction at work I've actually got you guys to get through, beat Iceland in last 16 and then get knocked out of the 1/4s to France.

I'd be happy with that scenario.

Fancy you getting through group easily. Russia and Slovakia are very meh, so should be able to get 2nd and very least best 3rd place. Just luck of draw in next round then

Bloody typical that best game of the tournament is on at 2pm <grr>

Still need to work out what to do about work, whether few of us from different departments can wangle a couple hours off and head to pub or if no ones going to bother and it'll be a case of following via text and doing **** all work instead.

My school is cancelling all lessons for the afternoon to watch the game, otherwise I was pulling a sickie <laugh>

It should have been a Saturday fixture.

I remember at 2002 WC our school allowed us to stay home and watch the games because they were on early morning with the time difference in Japan. Unfortunately, working for big company, don't get such perks! <grr>

Last Saturday I started at 5am and finished at 2am.....a whole 21 hours. It's not uncommon to do those sort of hours for me....

I'm a sound engineer. Certain corporate events and gigs need to happen in a day - which can mean very early starts and very late finishes.
I'll be working in Nottingham on Friday - 8am until 2am doing an awards ceremony, and then in Cwmbran at 8am - 1am on Saturday doing White Collar Boxing. No rest for the wicked I guess.

That's pretty much how it works. Certain months like November and March I'll get maybe 1 day off in the month and most days will be at least 10 hours. Whereas August and January will be about 4 or 5 days work in the month, which is why I usually spend a month in the Philippines at the end of December - I won't be turning down work.

I will be happy to reach the knock out stage where anything can happen and you dont have to worry about other teams like in the group stage. It will all be in our own hands...
