I've just emailed one of my clients who's in India on business. He's the one who took me to OT 2 seasons ago to watch us play you. He's a season ticket holder, but a very rational and eminently likable guy - a generous Jock I said " Views on Mourinho's appointment?". His response "We'll see how Jose does, but I'd have preferred Klopp". This is Not a WUM. It's genuine. Klopp is not perfect by any stretch (2nd half of the Europa proves that), but he does exude genuine passion, which is a great quality. I think Mourinho will do a good job for you, but he will always remain an arrogant **** in my eyes .
I just spoke to my mate Darren who's in Strangeways doing a five year stretch. He said he's mad for Mourinho and thinks Klopp looks like a demented geography teacher. Case closed.
Thanks for sharing Jock's thoughts. Seeing as he is so acute and generous with his observations, could you ask him his views on Conte and cc me on the mail. This is not a WuM. It is genuine
I asked Darren his views on Conte and he said it would be at least another two years til he got some.
This deification of the hyperactive PE teacher is beyond comprehension. Here was supposedly a messiah to revitalise a sliding club. He was new to the premier league. He took a team full of internationals (the club with most at the Euro 16) from 7th to 8th in the league. He had fewer points than the last manager who was sacked. His performances away from his home ground have been really poor. He deservedly lost the 2 finals he's been in (as none were played at his home ground ) And he's being compared to a manager (no saint and plenty of faults himself !!) who has managed here and won the premiership a few times convincingly.
I only got the letter in the post this morning. It's a richly deserved and some would say long overdue honour.
So Jose had an eye on his ultimate job...even when he was managing Chelsea. Apparently it now looks that Chavs had always been a stepping stone for him. "A red at heart " http://metro.co.uk/2016/05/27/jose-...d-sir-alex-ferguson-and-wayne-rooney-5902812/ I did think over the years he was too nice about United, Ferguson and Rooney for a rival manager.
Thats been know for a few years, he always wanted to manage UTD, Chavbus was being used to hone his skills for his ultimate job
A long shot - but I think JM agitated enough to get himself sacked by Chelsea last year just so he would be available to take the job after LvG who was seriously under threat at that same time. He may have had to wait a little longer than planned, but he got there in the end. Has he stayed at Chelsea there is no way he could have broken his contract to come to us now - Roman would have let him rot in the boiler room rather than walk away for his dream job.
That must really have upset the chav fans. I am 100% certain that the likes of CFC are more of a Jose fan than I am. I distinctly recall them arguing that Jose was the greatest ever premiership manager and his record was better than SAF.
