That was more akin to the nazi plebiscites of the 1930's...

Going back to developing the KC didn't Adam Pearson want to build a hotel and casino ? Then the Allam's wanted to develop the area but none of these schemes got anywhere, so not holding out much hope for the new owners if they come in.

Didn't Hull fail to get one of the few available casino licences making AP's project a non-starter? The Allams, as we all know, wanted a free cake and then to eat all the slices, that was a non-starter too. Previous failures won't have any impact on new owners (should they ever come riding cavalry like over the horizon).

This was covered a few weeks back. Hull was granted a license for a 'super casino' but not as super as they first expected. Lambretteman joined the thread with the actual details and will no doubt be along any minute soon to put us right.
My memory of the application was that AP wanted the casino license for a new hotel alongside the KC but the council had other ideas and they proposed it should go to the new hotel being built where the Clarence Flour Mill once stood near North Bridge. Hilton Blue Star ?
Also a change in the law was thrown into the ring at the same time so it seems the 'super casino' idea for Hull was filed away in a cabinet labelled ' will never see the light of day'.
    It's a very big cabinet.

Hull didn't get the super casino licence but was granted a licence for a large casino.

Hull College are doing something with it from this summer in partnership with Hull United. It will be United's home ground.

There was a totally pointless vote on an issue that wasn't on the agenda, and the people making the decision said it wouldn't count if they were to review the boundaries. ERYC spunked ratepayers money away for no real purpose.

At the same time, they refuse to join in with an independent study on ways to improve the region. ERYC let the ratepayers down, and hold the region back.
