    Yeah, quite simply.

Even when we were top of the league before we bottled it the supporters were apathetic. The owners have ****ed everyone off.

I also think it helps teams when they have a strong rivalry. Hull City don't have any rivals in East Yorkshire at all so there isn't that 'bragging rights' element.

What do you reckon you attendance would be if you had been really **** for 30 years and fighting off relegation to the conference for 10 years? Not a snipey remark just asking?

    These things have an impact.

Not to many, I hope. I'll try and just post only on this board so we can have a little laugh about it, without the whole of NOT606 being offended.

About 115,000 I'd say. Depends how big we could make our ground.

If it comes down to a pissing competition as to who is the best supported then Hull City are never going to win. Quite simply we aren't as well supported as lots and lots of teams above and below us in the table.

I've only been to Sunderland a few times, and that was years ago, but what struck me was the number of people walking around in Sunderland merchandise with almost no one wearing the colours of other clubs.

In Hull during the same period you'd have seen many more people wearing ManU, Liverpool, Arsenal, Leeds, Chelsea or whoever shirts than you would City. There are probably the same % of football fans in Hull as other cities it's just that many of them are plastic.......

Doesn't stop me supporting my team, even from Sweden now, just like it didn't stop me supporting them in the basement division in the pissing rain at Orient.

Anybody wearing foreign colours in Sunderland usually end up being barbequed on the top of Tunstall Hill mate.

We're quite strict up here on discipline.

The lack of real quality/composure was lacking in Wednesday - it was won by a quality goal from a premier quality player.
Apparently the new owners of Wednesday 3 yr plan was to make top half fonish this year , play offs the next season then premiership. So they're ahead of schedule at moment. We know the downsides of being ahead of development plans and going too early into premiership - being cannon fodder and struggle follows

When we fell out of the league with a record low points tally, initial crowds were 28-32k if memory serves.

That's realistically our 'die hard' element. Crowds were lower at Roker but the family enclosures and seats were usually full, the increase was a combination of Reid improving the side and the new stadium being family friendly but those numbers have remained.

I'd think no matter what we'd have 30k or so turn up, rather not plummet for a few years to prove it mind!

There's no shame in being a rugby town and I did notice Hull rugby fellas played same day at KC, but it was a surprise to see so many empty seats for such an enormous game.

Without reverting to 'my dads bigger than your dad' we could take 20k to an away game in the league of someone's stadium was big enough. Maybe it's us who are ****ed up.
