Rooney was universally approved of from folk around me, he made some really good runs off the ball to make space.

He looked a little rusty in parts to me but you can always see his quality if you are watching him live.

    Cracking finish as well.

The team was missing him and his experience in the first half, let's hope he has a good tournament.

I think he will mate, and I think he's vital for the like of Alli etc.

They will look up to him he's gotta be on it on and off the park.

He gets unfair **** from all angles for me but I've always loved watching him play, enjoyed the documentary he did as well came across really well. Good lad.

Just out of interest for those who were there, what percentage of the crowd were SAFC fans?

Just with the Townsend booing and Jermaine Defoe songs.

Also heard there was that Adam Johson sang a couple of times.

It seemed to be heavily Sunderland mate I'd got 70% at least.

There were a fair few southern monkeys in the metro like, all **** shoes and expensive jackets that look cheap.

One of them stood on me foot, probs won't stand on a northern boys foot again.

    Haha.

Everything will evolve around Rooney...truly world class player. If he delivers which I hope he does then England should have a very good tournament. Hopefully as well will give a finger to the nay sayers that he doesn't produce on the world stage....

It must have passed you by that our 'relationship' with our 'Friends to the North' has improved over the last couple of years, and I foe one welcome that.
It will be a pity if things revert back to the way they were because of those who's only ambition seems to be to want to mimic the worst of our Rivals.
Why not set yourself an ambitious target to embarrass them by showing how it can be done.:emoticon-0137-clapp

Curiosity got me to look up the definition of 'Patronising'. I got -------

treat with an apparent kindness which betrays a feeling of superiority

IF that means I believe that being more or less tolerant toward our rivals and that this is a
better than hatred, then I plead GUILTY on all counts.
Tolerance is usually superior to hatred, don't you think?

Didn't mean to get you in a hot mess mate, I just don't think RAW who is 85 years old, needs advice on how to behave.

I'll keep my beak out now.

Yup went to that game and my mate was going mental so we started booing the Newcastle young lads when they touched it. Still to this day don't know how we didn't end up in a good old fashioned fist fight!

My gutt feeling would have been a similar %, but given the speed I managed to get away after the game I think the percentage might be lower. The back route away from the ground to the Tyne Tunnel was very quiet. We left at the final whistle and within 20 mins I was through the tunnel!!! Normally takes 50 mins.

Walking back into town over the Wearmouth Bridge was just like a normal match day...What was different was the huge queues for the metro at St Peter's Station.

Make sense... I'm sure I read they were to put on loads of extra metro trains.

Incidentally, does anyone know if its easy to get parked and ok to leave your car at Fellgate and get the metro to SoL. I've thought of doing it a few times, but never tried it.
