Usual Bank Holiday fare, not the best quality racing but still a few punting opportunities.

    Leicester
    3.20 Teerhal 5-2

A relatively unexposed horse in a race full of mostly exposed horses, Ryan Moore should ensure the horse is given every chance.
    3.55 Moorside 11-10 Banker
    Cannot see this being beaten.
    4.55 Exponent Blue
I have backed this horse twice on the all weather and he has not been ridden well in either race. I am hoping back on turf he can repay losses.

    Redcar
    12.45 Irish Melody 6-1

Just following money with this one as it is a yard that can ready a 2yo first time up and know the difference between one to back and one to let run.
3.25 Central Square 10-3 Next best
This could be anything but the fact that Roger Varian is happy to pitch this one in at such a depth so early says to me group horse, the trainer has plenty he could have sent for this race which would have made more sense, if he thinks this is the one I will go with it.

    Windsor
    5.05 Graceland 3-1

Didn't enjoy Chester last time but is better than that.

    Good luck all

    12:30 Huntingdon - Icanmotor

(Good chance to at last break her long-standing maiden tag. Backed her a couple of times before, e/w 3rd LTO so doesn't owe me much, if anything. One thing I like about the mare is she tries her best, can't ask for more than that. Claire Dyson's charge deserves a change of fortune, and trainer has booked a good conditional to ride. Freely available 9/2 seems a fair bet with small stake).

Timeform free racecard for that 3.25 Redcar Blue. They have Winter House, Central Square, Tawdeea and Swift Emperor all likely to improve (p) with 3lb between them. Tawdeea and Winter House as Horses in Focus.

Another uninspiring bunch of bank holiday meetings. Jumps punters will probably be sifting through the form at Cartmel as they have one of their rare fixtures but the days have long gone when racecourses put on any decent fare when they know that punters will show up for dross – lots of Class 5 and 6 races at Leicester, Redcar and Windsor.

The Zetland Gold Cup at Redcar looks numerically competitive but I have my doubts about Winter House (gelded, beaten in Lingfield event and now in first time cheek pieces) and Central Square (won ordinary maiden, handicap debut but yard in top form). Had a look at Timeform top-rated Tawdeea but a soft ground maiden win followed by Newcastle’s polytrack leaves something to find. The obvious alternative is from the stable of last year’s winner, 100-rated REVOLUTIONIST, who I think looks a good prospect to make all and collect a good prize under Joe Fanning.

Over at Windsor in the 4:35, I am going to take on favourite Shakopee (beaten favourite at HQ on debut) and top weight American Artist with PERFECT CRACKER, who finished in front of Roger Varian’s charge at Chester and can confirm that running even on revised terms for a yard with a 25 per cent strike rate in the last fortnight.

Ah, Mädel, thought you'd do better than that; seems you were just out for a run with the fellahs! Have found my own personal cliff horse? :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Well done on getting the winner, JamesT! <ok>

Yes, I noticed that about Tawdeea QM. Not sure what to make of that last run. Highest rating so far for him but it was on AW - but also 2f further than he had been before. So, was it the distance that brought about the improvement or the surface?

I do not know but I never back artificial surface form on turf. He might turn out to be well handicapped but I have opposed it.

I wish I had done my bet on Revolutionist earlier. It was 9/1 at Coral this morning but it was down to 6/1 at William Hill by the time I went to put the bet on. Perhaps everyone has piled on because I tipped it...

Alistair Cook has finally managed to get to 10,000 runs – at the third attempt! He did it younger than Sachin Tendulkar, but I think that is where the comparison ends.

With England chasing a meagre total to win, there should be enough time for Compton to get out cheaply so they can drop him for the Lord’s Test. Sri Lanka scored more runs in their second innings than their aggregate runs in their previous three innings so well done to their youngsters for showing some spirit.

Making an assumption that you are referring to my post immediately before your question, Alistair Cook is the England cricket captain and they are currently playing the second Test of their series against Sri Lanka. At the start of the series, Cook needed 36 to reach 10,000 career Test runs but got out for 16 at Headingley and 15 in the first innings at Chester-le-Street. Having failed to win by an innings, batting again he dribbled a boundary to get to the 5 runs he needed in the second innings.

I wish William Hill did best odds guaranteed. Having seen the early price betting showing 8/1, 15/2, 7/1, 6/1 I took what now appears to be the worst odds ever offered for Revolutionist. At least it won, though!

My other one is still running, which is a shame since Ralph Beckett’s Master Of Irony has already crossed the finishing line, clearly suited by stepping up from a mile for the first time.

Fecking warm here Ste, sweating my nads off all day. This afternoon around 2pm I popped out of my Physio for a breath of fresh air and there was the most almighty clap of thunder and flash of lightning. I almost shat my fecking pants. Serious problems in Southern Germany, horrendous flooding.

William Hill online might do BOG but their high street offices are not competing with the world on the internet, so I lost out. Paid at 6/1 on an 8/1 winner.

Better a winner missing out on the price than a loser at any odds.
