This time we'll get it right.
Below us the likes of NUFC, AVFC, LUFC, SWFC, DCFC, NFFC- all struggling to match what we've just done, all desperate to have what we've just achieved.
But they haven't and they can't. We can now turn the page at last, and try and move this great club forward. All being well, new ownership is coming in and with that, hopefully someone with a modicum of savvy and benevolence.
We have a rare window of opportunity, to re-align the club, the fan and the council so they are all on the same page and pulling in the same direction at the same time just like 2002 to 2010.
Yesterday (and the watching millions) saw the damage done by the current owner to our fanbase. After 2008 we held the record for the biggest attendance for the Championship Play Off final for several years. Yesterday we got another record- the lowest ever Wembley Championship Play Off crowd, Same club, same fans - different owners.
Painful to behold - the empty spaces will be etched in the memories of fans for years to come. Some student somewhere will one day be doing a project on the Allams handling of the Hull City brand- a textbook case of how not to manage the marketing of a football club.
Despite all the off field problems, the team did us proud yesterday and Sheffield never got a sniff. Proof that inflatables don't win games. We have shown that biggest stage holds no fears for us and as a club we have long since ceased being a Cinderella club, happy just to be at Wembley. We have now got access to fabulous TV-generated wealth, and the chance to build an even stronger club.
Hopefully new owners will get rid of the deadwood in the squad, get the marketing fixed, rebuild all the bridges destroyed by the current lot....and then we can focus on staying up and consolidating our place among the elite.

Not a bad post, but the title is ****! Rightful place? WTF? It makes you sound like a Liverpool fan when they go top of the league! Next season we could be back down again & most people would say that's our rightful place.
Me I'm happy to be in the PL again, but I'm not going to be an overbearing arsehole who thinks we should be beating everyone who went up this year & all the bottom half of the PL!
Those are the games we realistically should be looking at to win, not expecting to win!
Let's not become one of those teams who are full of obnoxious ****s!

Lets be realistic. Our best Prem place has been 16th. Would anyone on here take 16th again, of course we would. Anything better than that is a bonus. We are in league two of the Premiership and we all know what and who we need to beat. The sentiment is great CM maybe borne out of euphoria, rightful place, absolutely not.

£50 in a pub is one thing, but £50 ticket, train, underground, beer on top! It's an expensive day out!

Yeah i get your point Bruce
But id rather spend an extra £30 on top and get coach and ticket than sit in a pub and watch it.

You spend £50 quid watching football in a pub? What are you drinking?

£15 max for me. Mates can buy their own drinks, I'm from Yorkshire, and I'm tight. If the bar man's really lucky, I'll buy a packet of crisps too.

That was only an example though. I was at Wembley.

Speaking of which, who pays £6.50 for a cheeseburger, and why was a salmonella van selling things with brie in it Yorkshire folk?

I only bought it out of superstition though.
The last time i bought one at wembley was in 2008 and we won 1 nil so it worked.
**** knows where Wembley get their inflation rates from it was £3,70 in 08

The first two years I think people were satisfied just being there. Just surviving and then going down weren't considered failures, it was an achievement just to be there.

The second two years were different. The first year we were quite safe, we dropped places towards the end as the players couldn't be bothered with the league games in the run up to the FA Cup final. The second season it was thought that we had our best team ever and that we should have a good chance of being safe and getting our best position ever. Things started ok but then slipped away, and then we got overtaken, missed some chances and that was that.

This time around I expect people have left behind the feeling of just being happy to be there as was the case in the first two years. Of course a few will now come just to watch some famous players, but most of the support won't. And paying premier league prices would mean I assume that some at least would want to see an effort commensurate with that.

I was going to get a burger, but the prices were stupid. I'm sure there's have sold more if the prices had been more reasonable. The queues didn't seem as long as last time.

The foot long German hot dog was something like 7-8 quid wasn't it? At that price I'd have a Teutonic maiden to feed it to me as well please.

A couple of years ago before some tablets I was put on affected me I could easily sink 12 or 14 pints in a 3 or 4 hour session, drinking strong beers ( Polly 13 will confirm that). The wife no doubt wishes I had been on them in when I was in my thirties.<laugh> Add something to eat and it is easy to get to £50. Of course if you do get a £50 ticket
then it is possible to spend as much again unless you go straight home. Which takes will power, something I,don't have a lot of. Though I managed to stop smoking after having 40-50 a day for years 14 years ago. Something which because of my problems I would recommend everyone at least tries.

    True
    I only didn't go because I didn't want to
Actually that also meant I didn't want to go to pub either. If I'd been cheering them on in a pub I may as well have gone to Wembley
I did match it, in my home, with family.
I was fairly miserable, but they won't have noticed any difference from usual
