Not sure but I think she may have been defending the Sharon Osbourne media comments. What ever happened on that day in Portugal reality is until proven otherwise the McCann's have to remain under suspicion or due to the circumstances at the very least careless/negligent, leaving a 3 year old child without parental supervision in a foreign country. I question if this had been a lower class family would their twins have been taken into care? I read that the McCann's have never forgiven themselves according to a family friend - hence this indicates an admittance self conscious wrong doing for failing to protect their child. I just find it a shame they did not put the same energy in looking after their child properly, to the energy they have putting in since, including writing a book. I loved a comment someone wrote, the cost of the book is the same price it would have cost them for a babysitter. No one will probably ever know what truly happened that day, but do I blame the parents, yes I do and i find it astonishing that they can remain in their professional practise and parenting young twins after all that has happened, especially as I believe the same leniency would not have been shown to someone of a less professional standing.
I lost my son on a crowded beach in Spain once. One minute I was watching him, he was playing with a bunch of kids in the water, I went down to check, and he wasn't among them. Started walking up and down the water's edge shouting his name, then he appeared in the arms of a cop, getting kissed half to death by all these clucking Spanish grandmas cooing "ah, pobre nino," and pinching his cheek. Scariest 5 mins of my life, and after that I wouldn't rush to pass judgement on any parent who had cause to fear the worst and then have to actually confront it. Not sure if the cop was Spanish Dev btw.
I don't think you can keep your eye on your kids 24hrs a day What you can do is NOT drug them so they sleep and accidentally give them an overdose that kills them
They were staying at a Mark Warner resort which are usually full of middle class families who dump their kids on the reps all day and let nannies listen out for their kids in the evening. It is a selling point of the firm, I sh*t you not this is from their website "We have been providing family friendly holidays for over 35 years, so we understand every need when holidaying with children. From the moment you touch down, our team of friendly professional staff will be on hand to help, and to ensure that you have a most relaxing and memorable time" Not exactly a relaxing and memorable time when one of your kids gets nabbed. The parents get squiffy on sangria all day long and let Bunty and Tarquin run around racking up credits on ice creams and pop. The McCann's kids were in a chalet not far from where they were spending the evening with friends. Their bad luck it was the one on the end which was the easiest to get into.
