Just to clarify, Darrell Clarke would not be my first choice for manager and I doubt he is anyone's. But I'm not against the idea if that's the route we wanna go because we aren't capable of getting someone proven, but then we need to re-evaluate where we are as a club. If we are to do that though Cellino shouldn't be saying we are gonna get top 6 next season, basically promising it (although no one believes him). The manager isn't the most important next step for us to take realistically especially if that is the case. Cellino is absolutely 100% not capable of getting us promoted simply because he has no plan on how we are going to get promoted, he just makes decisions as he goes without any forethought
I'm not against Clarke becoming our next manager, I just don't see what more he has on his CV that makes him anymore more equipped for the job than Evans tbh.
Leeds United: Massimo Cellino promises "someone special" as head coach - and says next season will make fans "understand" him please log in to view this image Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino said today that he had “lots of good managers willing to come” to Elland Road - and claimed his strategy for next season would make disillusioned fans “understand” him. Cellino refused to discuss Leeds’ on-going approach for Bristol Rovers boss Darrell Clarke but gave an upbeat view of the weeks ahead, promising to appoint “someone special” as head coach. United still have an incumbent first-team boss in Steve Evans but Cellino’s search for a replacement and recent talks between the Italian and potential successors has effectively confirmed that Evans will be replaced before his contract ends on June 30. Leeds have made a bid to recruit Clarke, Bristol Rovers’ 38-year-old manager, but are yet to formally agree to a deal which will see them finance £250,000 of compensation in structured payment. Cellino, however, is expected to give the go-ahead in the next few days and clear the way for the start of negotiations with Clarke. Reports from Bristol say Rovers want an answer from Leeds before Monday. Cellino is abroad in Italy and not due to return until the weekend.

Absolute quality player and was a big player for Boro while he was there. I can't see Boro not signing him permanently.
