He was a close second last season off 129 & 130, now racing off 119. Classic Stick selection criteria!
I am fine Gaz, just lost a very dear friend way too soon!

A great card at Sandown tomorrow with some really good horses on show, the likely problem is that most have bigger targets than tomorrow and so we will need take fitness on trust with some.

    Sandown
    6.00 Inniscastle Lad 7-2

Taken form to a new level this season and more to come.
    6.35 Chupalla 7-2
Visually one of the most taking performances from a two year old so far, much more on his plate but everything says that from a big 2yo yard this is their Royal Ascot hope.
7.05 Frosty Berry 50-1 EW (non runner)
With 5 runners this price is worth a punt to get in the first two, it could become a strange races with 5 runners, the Fav could be undercooked with Royal Ascot in mind and stranger things have happened.
    7.40 Intilaaq 7-4
A horse I like very much but can throw in a stinker from no where, but on his day he is the best in this field.
    8.15 Zonderland 11-4 NAP
Ran well in the 2000G and more than up to this standard, best bet.
8.45 Jacob Black 4-1 Next Best
Loves the course and will have been targeted at this race.

    Good luck all.

Haven't had a butchers yet today, but just read a decent article by Mike Cattermole on five subjects. On the second, it appears Nyquist was found to be a pretty sick horse after tests were made on him on completion of the Preakness Stakes. Get this too, over 135,000 spectators for this renewal, mamma mia!

"This was all played out in front of a record crowd of 135,256 for a Preakness - and the sun wasn't even shining. Wouldn't Epsom love to get a crowd figure within a few thousand of that on Saturday week!"

    20:05 Newcastle - Muhaafiz

(Best to ignore run LTO in which distance was too far. Dropped back in trip has decent chance here, as long as he goes on the Tapeta. Good jockey booking. 9/1 generally available).

Not sure what to make of the first at Chelmsford. Did jockey error lose the race? To me seemed Mahon had race in the bag a furlong or so out and his horse came away from rails, but he took two massive looks over his right shoulder thought he had all beaten only for the fav to come up the rail. I know he was probably all out by then but I think he should have won.

I like the look of Kathy P over the Mullins jolly in the lucky last at Tipp. She ran a credible third in a bumper at Chelts last month and looks well in here and should run a good race 5/1

The National Stakes looks like a cracking clash between several Royal Ascot-bound two year olds but I find it almost impossible to look beyond Mehmas, as Richard Hannon’s colt was hugely impressive in dispatching odds-on favourite Global Applause at Newbury. This may be a furlong shorter but I see no reason why the drop back in trip on a stiffer track should hinder Frankie Dettori’s mount.

I can only conclude that the presence of Melbourne Cup runner-up Max Dynamite has deterred more opponents from lining up for the Henry II Stakes. Whilst he is clearly the top horse on the ratings, there is no guarantee that the race will be run to suit him but I cannot find enough grounds to lumber any of the other three with my money.

The Brigadier Gerard Stakes has carved up quite appreciably although there are still a number of solid prospects facing the starter. Time Test comes here as a prep-race for Royal Ascot but has to concede a 5lb penalty to his rivals and that could be a very difficult ask against Dubai Turf disappointment Intilaaq. The two four year olds look the class of the race as it is difficult to fancy last year’s victor Western Hymn on this year’s form and I cannot figure out why Godolphin bought gelding Scottish out of the Balding yard.

A fascinating quintet goes to post for the Heron Stakes. John Gosden's Royal Artillery (25/1 for a Guineas six weeks ago) cost a lot but will he be better than race-fit Forge in a race that should be run at a decent clip? Zonderland provides a form line to the 2000 Guineas but my interest is in the Gosden second string, Lagardère runner-up CYMRIC, trying to redeem his reputation dropped back to a mile with the (first time) cheek pieces taken off. I am expecting William Buick to try and make the running as it may be that he did not stay in the Newmarket Stakes, trailing home an eased-off last.

That was likely the best 2yo race run so far this season at Sandown and the first two look serious animals. Global Applause must be sent for the 5f race at Ascot whilst Mehmas should go back to 6f, I feel were it 6f again today as it was last time that Mehmas would have reeled in Global Applause. Those behind were no slouches and will win their fair share, but looked ordinary compared to the front two.

There are two little 'x's on the small-screen start-up, Wooly, kill them, as Oddy said, and this will allow you to go full-screen. Then plain sailing.

Ron click the small x under the word "played". This will clear the pop-up and reveal another small x somewhere above where the log in button was. Click that away too and off you go.
