Bristol Rugby lost tonight but had a big enough lead from the first game to complete the journey back to the premiership, like the gas they don't believe in making it easy on the supporters

Bristol Rugby are back where they belong. Stupid playoff system, where there isn't much point in finishing top of the league. Only Exeter have made a proper go of the Premiership. London Welsh were an embarrassment and didn't even play in London! Hopefully Bristol will sign enough decent players to compete well in the Premiership. And hopeful they'll have lots of decent cup runs. Just imagine what a quagmire the Ashton Gate pitch could be by January!

Well they've been playing there for two years without any problems not sure why the promotion would affect the pitch. Heavier/Bigger players maybe?

Perhaps the building work has allowed more light on the pitch and a chance for the grass to recover. Or maybe there's all sorts of clever technology that means it's no longer a problem. I really hope Bristol compete this time and bring in a few decent players. Exciting times for rugby fans.

Got nervy near the end though, I thought it was going to happen again, thank goodness it didn't though :emoticon-0141-whew:

Ok, on that basis then, we took 40k to Wembley. I guess that makes us the top supported team in Bristol as City didnt even do that.

We sold out the home end at the Mem for Dag & Red a month in advance. If we had a bigger stadium, we would have easily got more than 16k that Bristol got last night.

    Nice try though Tommy <laugh><ok>

As for the game itself last night, I thought Bristol was going to throw it away at the end <laugh>

Not against Grimsby you didn't, Grimsby had 10,000 and it was 47,000, so you could only have taken 37,000 <whistle>

No. 8 years. Do your sums again :)

As y0u know, relegation unfortunately means a loss of fanbase. Promotion gives you more fanbase. If we were going to Wembley now, we would get more than what we got last year :)
