Players will not go and sign a new deal until they know who the manager is. Well I wouldnt anyway! In the meantime, will the likes of Lockyer and Taylor will get snapped up by other clubs while this is going on. Our club should be giving DC a deadline, say by Friday this week. Club comes first. If DC goes, it will take time to get a new manager in. We will be way behind other clubs in player recruitment. Basically we will be losing time. If DC goes, a lot of the team could end up going too. So it could be a massive rebuild for a new manager. This is not good at all. So we dont want to be wasting time here with DC's future. The longer that takes, if he end up going, the harder it will be for us to be ready for league 1.
what do you think Mansell is on about here? His future??? Or could be just a hangover from Vegas. Maybe could be something innocent. But its getting people thinking!
I don't think DC will go to Leeds, it's to risky a move. I just hope the deal rovers have put on the table is too good for DC to turn down. I just have this horrible feeling Leeds won't be the only club knocking on the door for DC's services?
Spoke to Lee Mansell after the last home match and asked him if he would be here next season and he said he hoped he would CJS with Tom Lockyer under contract we could tell Leeds or any other club to p--s off or make the fee prohibitive or get a large transfer budget as a result
I think with Mansell it will boil down to length of contract.. It could be that a league 2 club offer him a 3 year deal? And at his age job security is more a priority?
Evening Gas heads. Phil Hay generally is the main man when it comes to LUFC. He tweeted this afternoon :- Phil Hay @PhilHayYEP 3h3 hours ago Evans back at work as planned today. Leeds and Rovers been negotiating compo. for Clarke but it sounds like Leeds want to get this done.
Think Phil hay has is wrong on this one.... Our owner/owners put DC in high a stead. They won't want to part with him without a fight. And DC is far from stupid, he will be very sceptical regarding Leeds recent track record on the manager front.
Oh mate, this track record goes back 15 yrs. The things that have happened in the past few years since Cellino has taken over the club are too far fetched for soaps
Well DC is in Vegas at the moment so nothing will happen til his return. And when he does get back in the country, you can bet Phil Hays wages the first person talking to DC regarding new contracts will be Bristol Rovers football club.
Im not sure if DC is in Vegas. According to the statement on the Rovers site, its says Hamer met up with DC on Monday and offered a 3 year contract. So unless Hamer went to Vegas, I think DC is still here in England. Wael has given Leeds the chance to pay up or shut up. That doesnt mean Wael is not fuss about DC going. He has made it clear he wants DC to stay due to offering a new contract. I just want it over with either way. So we can get on and prepare for league 1.
I didn't know he was back captain..? I thought he was out there with the squad? So I guess it's over to DC then... Make your mind up time ??
I know DC was going out there in June for his stag or to get married. Not sure if he went out with the players as well for end of season celebrations. Maybe he is out there and Hamer went to him to chat and offer the new 3 year contract. I dont know mate. All I do know is Hamer met up with DC 2 days ago on Monday and offered a new contract
I was just about to tick the like box. Then I realised that I don't like the comment because its true. He could and probably should.
He may want to listen to what Leeds will offer and what assurances the Leeds owner will give regarding money to spend and time to start the rebuild. If the owner is in Italy, that may take time to do before DC can give his answer? But as far as I am concerned, Leeds havent met Rovers conditions that was set for them to even talk to DC. If they dont then its irrelevant anyway. DC is still under contract which will continue to roll over by 12 months even if DC doesnt sign the new contract offered.
