If Rodgers wanted the job , Huw would have waited till Febuary 1st . Rodgers didn't want the job so Guidolin got it
When Rodgers finally wanted the job on a silver platter , it wasn't given .... It's not rocket surgery dai

So Dai is wrong, but according to Rodgers himself he turned us down because he wanted a break and the uncertainty of the pending takeover.....hmmm

Brendan Rodgers names the Premier League club he could have joined - HITC

Hi best one is going to the Scottish PL is not a step down on the Pl, of course it isn't and you keep saying it long enough and all those dull jocks may just start believing your bullshit.

Typical dullards the usual bunch.... Here we have a past manager who was brilliant for us and got us to wembley for the best day out in our history and got us to the premiership where we are still benefiting for what he did for us and all we see on here is nothing but cringe worthy crap slagging off one of the best manager we have ever had.. Call themselves fans <doh> I dont think so...<ok>

I am not slagging him off and would have welcomed him back if he had signed in February. I just think it is kind of embarrassing that he thinks the Scottish PL is not a step down from the EPL.

The club is massive so its not a step down at all......the league he is in is not very good but that's not his fault. just look at the players and managers past and present who have gone to Celtic....He is following in some big footsteps....

How can you say it is not a step down the club is massive I agree with you, **** mine dai, you could go up there manage them and win the league, Now if Rodgers was to progress them through Europe he has done well, but lets not try and pretend that this league is anywhere near the Pl and the job is a dam sight easier. It is and easy option taken.

Dai are you serious. If you put celtic in the championship they would struggle and the others. That league is shocking compared to the championship let alone prem. Who have they got player wise that you would say are prem class. Answers on a postcard

Rather be a small fish in a big pond like us , than a big fish in a small pond like the team Rodgers inherited....
Pretty hard to blow that gig

Are you serious this team has competed in the champions league and did well. They could easily compete in the premiership and i wish they were allowed to join the English system.....They are one of the biggest clubs in the world and have proved it....their biggest problem is the lack of money in Scottish football or they would be a bigger side altogether.......Rangers are not that far behind them now either...

Yes they are a big club in a very small pond, they have in the past done well in Europe, but that is well in the past. they haven't made the group stage for the last 2 seasons. not so good that is it. But, I am not convinced you are getting our point. They are a massive club in terms of support and history, but as I said to you, you could manage them to a league tittle, it is the easy option for Rodgers as it is almost impossible to fail, unless your name is John Barnes.

We have never made the group stage and neither has the majority of the premiership teams so not for Celtic not to qualify for the last two seasons is nothing.....How many so called big premiership teams have not qualified for a lot longer than just 2 seasons...<laugh>

Yes but we and everyone else in the PL is up against a different opposition just to qualify, Celtic have only ever had to beat Rangers to get there and for the last 4 yeears haven't even had to do that. This year they lost to Malmo in qualifying, remember them the team we beat to qualify for the Europa league. In the pL the only team not to qualify for the group stage is Everton who lost to Villareal.

Let's face it , Celtic and Rangers have had a history of silver spooned entries into Europe .
What I will say is the all Scottish Celtic players that lived within a small distance of each other that won everything in 67 is almost a miracle.

Roof you can not doubt their history, but todays Celtic is nowhere near the same club as the 60's celtic. it is all to easy for them.

Not doubting their history lefty , only their " Silver Spooned " opportunity to make it . Pretty well a chance at Champions League every season .
