Some clubs are in such a mess that the manager's job is a poisoned chalice. I'm sure there's some bad politics and behind the scenes stuff going on at Leeds which would grind even the best managers down. It's going to take a lot more than a decent manager to make Leeds great again. And a lot of the people holding the club back are still there. If it was simply a case of getting a decent manager in there, then Leeds would be back where they seem to think they belong. They've got rid of a lot of decent managers in recent years.

I think Leeds need a Neil Warnock type manager - someone near the end of their career who doesn't mind getting sacked a few months into a contract.,

I wonder if this will delay players from accepting their contract offers until they know who the manager is going to be. If he does go I hope Rovers will put a block on DC signing any of the Rovers current players, then at least we won't have to worry about Tom Lockyer going to Leeds. I know we cant do anything about the players who haven't signed on

Personally if DC left I would put Stewart in charge I can't think of any other coaches/managers (except Holloway of course) who know the club inside out and how important it is to keep the spirit of the club going another manager coming in would want to bring in his own players in and of course will have a different way of playing which could upset the squad.

The other thing to bare in mind is.... DC got us back to back promotions in non league and league 2.
He did this with players who he got in suited to those lower leagues. He knows nothing about the championship, and where to start regarding players. Ok he could throw money at developing a squad of players, but that's not his way.

Controversial Leeds owner Massimo Cellino is in Italy continuing his search for a new manager as Bristol Rovers claim they have refused him permission to speak to Darrell Clarke.

Rovers claim they have turned down an approach from Leeds for Clarke and that they have offered him a new three-year deal.

Cellino, who has been snubbed by MK Dons boss Karl Robinson, says he is back in his homeland meeting another candidate.

"I've not decided about the manager," said the Leeds owner and chairman, who has cooled his interest in Oldham's John Sheridan. "I'm in Italy now meeting another before I decide."

Nigel Pearson would be a good shout, because he's actually built a decent club in The Championship. If someone like Pearson isn't interested, then that's yet more evidence that Leeds aren't really making a serious fist of things.

Really hope DC stays - I would be engaging in a period of mourning if he did, and Leeds seems such a risky club to move to.

Also don't like the way that the Evening Post has gone about reporting this whole story...

Objectively I just don't get it!
We all know what a great job DC has done for us.
However to a club with a rich history like Leeds I don't understand why they are looking
at someone who has one year's experience (and that awful bit post Ward) of managing in
the League and got a team to 3rd in L2.
It's a huge gamble and if I was a Leeds fan I'd wonder what was going on.

Yep, if they're serious, they'll go for someone who's taken a side to The Premiership and has some experience there. They've probably already tried and failed to get any of those guys.

This is a major distraction to setting up the squad for next season.

It will be a complete disaster if DC leaves a new manager will want his own players and staff it will be like starting from scratch all over again.

It could ruin everything we've worked for DC leaves he might not want any of our current players.
