Have to agree with mito here. He's been indulging in a consummate self-parody for years. <ok>
He's just becoming less subtle in the desperation for a bite. :)

Uefa fine Liverpool & Manchester United

Liverpool have been fined £43,500 and Manchester United £44,000 by Uefa for a variety of offences during this season's Europa League meetings between the sides.

Both have had further £15,000 fines suspended, with illicit chanting making up the bulk of the fines.

Looks like the extra £500 they had to pay was for the chants their scum sang at Anfield?

That's chicken feed to the 3rd richest club in the world.

Also Cantona not joining in the mass mourinho hysteria, he says Utd chose the wrong chosen one, apparently City chose correctly according to Eric the sardine.

The frog's opinion only counts when he keeps the status quo, as for scholes, LVG was an easy target to rip to bits every week, Maureen will know how to give him an answer back in kind even if it is from the wrong side of the new greater manchester double decker bus.

I never understand the 'you spent all this money and won nothing lolololol' conversation. If a club can spend that amount and not bankrupt themselves then it's there choice how they spend it. Money doesn't equal titles or success.

I feel we've always tried to sign players who are the Liverpool type of way and not a name. The likes of Torres, Kuyt, Suarez, Reina ect, they were expensive signings but the similar type of player who the fans would love.

Chelsea & Man City are all about names players and recently Man u joined them with the likes of Di Maria, i hope the resort to the older days where they buy promising youth as the earlier days of successes was very commendable.

The "£600m spent over there last decade" Tobes clobbered us over the head with was spent by at least 3 different owners and 4 different managers all with different ideas on who suited the team best and if they were worth the asking price.
It would be nice to buy in young and promising players RS but in today's game unless you've already got the basis of a successful team the clubs owners and supporters don't have the patience to wait for the potential to flourish.

In fairness I only wheeled out that horrendous stat, as some of yours were taking the piss out of Van Gaal's spending to 'only' win an FA Cup.

I was just highlighting the hypocrisy tbh.

I think both clubs could well see a real resurgence tbh.

I'm excited about the future for us in a way I've not been for years. The level of manager we're courting, the prospect of a stadium solution - possibly even on the waterfront. Funds available for player purchases, rather than turning the couch upside down or selling someone first. Giddy stuff.

There was a discussion on TalkSport tonight about who's got the best deal out of Man City, Man Utd and Liverpool on appointing Guardiola, Mourinho and Klopp respectively.

If say Man City and Liverpool got the best got the best man for the respective jobs.

Mourinho is a very good appointment for Man Utd too but think they should have been targeting Poch; young manager that builds a team (not just buys the eleven best individuals) and gives youth a chance. Guardiola or Klopp would have been better for them imo.
