I've only been on this forum a couple of days so it's early days, but so far I have not seen one decent debate. The set up provided by Maltese Mick is good, in many ways better than 606 but there seem to be few posters who want to put up anything more than yah boo! stuff. We will need another forum to replace 606 and this could be it but so far I can see many of the more serious posters being put off by the lack of substantial comments. At the moment WUMs are just bouncing off each other which is pretty boring stuff. I know we already have a couple of decent posters from 606 on here, perhaps they need to make their presence felt.
Or like we are doing run on both or more and switch according to where the bulk seem to be going. It will either be civil war or an election
I think the potential with this forum is great to be honest, but now that WUMs can be dealt with using curse words I'm afraid the banter found on 606 with WUMs will be lost as we had to find a way of insulting them without swearing. Don't get me wrong I love a foul mouthed rant as much as the next person but i enjoy sarcasm and other forms of wit much better
With you there LDS good point! I feel a little less bothered about the loss of 606 when I look at the potential here. Will this site be able to cope with thousands more hitting it? Maybe Maltese Mick will tell us what he thinks!
I love 606 but without the 3 minute rule in here i think i'll find myself posting more often than on 606. As I'm in work during the week having to wait 3 minutes between posts usually meant i did some work between posts and then completely forgetting about 606 for about 20 minutes and by that stage the conversation had moved on or i can't get back into the flow of the thread and waste time catching up by reading the comments. Hopefully this place can sustain an influx of users because I can see its potential

Yeah i just joined too, i think for the site to work we need everyone to move on to the same place, but its really hard to do that, so i think its gonna be a matter of luck as to wether it will be a success or not.

Welcome DJ, good idea about getting a match thread going We need to try and get this place looking like the "real" 606 with some of the normal articles and it will hopefully enforce some "normality" to the board and weed out the WUMs
one problem - I'm having problems uploading an image for my profile. Do I have to create an album? The upload tool isn't working too well.
I moved server again last night to a very powerful box which should hopefully give us a lot of room for growth. In terms of the image upload problem it's probably due to the server upgrade, I'll sort it in a minute
Great to see a few of the established posters here, just worried that the lack of a 3 minute rule will attract WUM's. I do hope this takes off, I'm not a particularly regular poster on 606 but I always check it. Keep it up lads!
I've joined on the strength of seeing Spurf's recommendation on 606. I hope it's a goer but I've not been too impressed with some of the threads I've looked at. I don't mind WUMS as long as they can back up their views with a degree of logic and lucidity (and/or humour). I'll give it a shot for the next few months and see how it goes.

This is better already with some 'trusted' posters appearing. Thanks MalteseMick for you reply and thanks for your site. I think we can see it's up to us posters to make the site a good one, all Mick can do is provide the platform (which he has), so a few recomendations (in the right threads) on 606 and we could have ourselves a 'good place' .
