    No No No!
I am not allowed to follow the Australian Cricket Team by strict orders of the "Child-Bride"!
I am a Pom and therefore English and HAVE to support the Poms Cricket team.

So you were born in England lived here for 27 years and now you support Australia and you 'follow' two English football teams.

Where do you follow them to exactly?

The trials and tribulations of being an ex-pat in Australia.
To our English friends and rello's we are traitors.
To the Aussies we are "Pommy B@st@rds" even though we've been here for 50 years.
After my Dinki-Di Australian wife visited England and met my friends and rello's as well as seeing the bomb damage (still prevalent in Hull - we took the third most bombs in World War 2 I believe) and listened to their stories she warmed to the people and what they went through and wouldn't have a word said against us when she got back.

I do hope you are not one of those Grammar Nazi's Tel because you are going to have a ball with me being an uneducated retired old ditch digger. I used the word 'follow' as against 'support' as, to me, 'support' is actually being there 'live' at the game whereas 'follow' is watching on TV.
I 'supported' Sunderland for 7 years and rarely missed a game at Roker Park and now I 'follow' them from afar.

Not at all, just being pedantic like you chose to be, you split hairs to disprove my supposition so I just joined in.

You could have just said you supported Sunderland, Hull and Australia, like I suggested but instead you started chatting about following one and supporting the other, let's be honest here, you're essentially dismissing anybody who claims to be a supporter who doesn't go to the games, by your logic they're just 'followers'.

I was more interested in the international allegiance to be fair, you've been clear on that, even though I can't fathom why.

50 years ago you moved to Aus and started supporting Australia, unlucky bastard, we won the world Cup a month later <ok>

I wish they'd deported my forefathers to Australia then I wouldn't be stuck in this ****hole called England gripped by the ****ing EU.

No mate, that's all gobbledygook. "Following - where to"?:emoticon-0181-fubar
    I watched the World Cup in 66. I didn't migrate until 67.
I have told you that I have great difficulty putting a post together so a lot of what I say tends to be taken completely out of context.
Australian 'soccer' has come on well in the 50 years I have been here and will never take over from the 'Giant' that the Australian Rules Football has become. The AFL was originally just in Melbourne but they realized that they couldn't sustain 12 teams forever. With a lot of far-thinking and re-location of some Clubs they now have a league of 16 Clubs spread across the Country most of which own their own stadiums (which they refused to make available to Australia's recent World Cup Bid) and completely dominate Sport on TV. They are HUGE here especially considering we are a Nation of just over 20 million.
When the 'big' teams come over here (Juventus, Liverpool, Man U, Chelsea and the International Teams) the host stadium is packed with almost 90,000 fans.
When Italian legend Alessandro Del Piero played for Sydney as a 'Marquee Player" (someone outside of the salary cap - each Club is allowed one) he 'put bums on seats' and would you believe all Sydney's matches were sent back to Italy 'live' each week. Robbie Fowler was another.
We have a long way to go here in developing the 'passion' like that at Sunderland.

I'm only pulling your leg mate, you don't need to explain in great detail.

I don't think I've come across anybody who's changed allegiance with their national team before, that's all. I was half expecting you to say you'd be impartial in the friendly game coming up.

Yes I know mate, I get it all the time.
The worst for me is when the English Cricket team beats Australia. The "Child-Bride" is ropeable and I have to get my own meals. The Aussies aren't very good losers you know!

A Defoe call up may have helped ticket sales. Just for this one game. Especially as Vardy wont be there to play.

I said that when I thought Rashford got injured. F*ck it tho that would be the FA all over. Cynical b*stards just thinking of the money money money.

Hypothetical question. Suppose JD did play this Friday and scored a hat trick. Would it change Woys thinking about taking him to the Euros? Would it f*ck.
