    Good Morning Everyone,

Yesterday we were told that the LUFC board meeting had been postponed for 24 hours, but we were not told why.

We also heard yesterday that Warnock had left Rotherham!

    Could the two be connected.

Could we be about to unveil Colin, Mark2?

If I were to have a sneaky bet, I'd lump it on Evans tbh.

    Here are the latest odds?

Leeds United Manager First League Game 2016/17 Season
Karl Robinson 4/6 Ivan Juric 7/4 John Sheridan 8/1 Steve Evans 10/1
Quique Sánchez Flores 10/1 Walter Zenga 14/1 Neil Warnock 14/1 Dougie Freedman 16/1
Giuseppe Iachini 20/1 Fabio Cannavaro 25/1 David Moyes 28/1 Simon Grayson 28/1
Nigel Pearson 28/1 Tim Sherwood 28/1 Mick McCarthy 28/1 Massimo Rastelli 33/1
Michael Appleton 33/1 Roberto Martinez 33/1 Roberto Di Matteo 33/1 Chris Coleman 33/1
Steve Bruce 33/1 Sinisa Mihajlovic 33/1 Paul Clement 33/1 Dennis Wise 40/1
    Alan Smith 40/1 Christian Brocchi 40/1 Steve McClaren 40/1 David O'Leary 40/1
Brendan Rodgers 50/1 Walter Mazzarri 50/1 Roberto Mancini 50/1

Villa have been sold for 60m to a rich Chinese businesman. I know talk is cheap, but this guy seems to be making the right kind of noises.

According to talksport there are a lot of rich Chinese businessmen looking to invest in English football.

    Thoughts?

Morning Elland and all. The sale of Villa gives a fair idea what were actually worth. Ive heard 70m but whether its that or 60, for that you get a club with guaranteed parachute payments for three years, a great old ground and training facilities. Given that a prospective buyer of Leeds gets none of those assets, were likely worth about 20m max to a foreign buyer. So, Cellinos choices are either sit tight and hope we can fluke it to the pl on a shoestring or sell at a colossal loss. My money is on him sitting tight for another couple of seasons at least

Warnock is going to Blackburn as he wants another chance of Premiership. Venkys can give him that Rotherham and Leeds can't.

Agree with Eire regarding our valuation as Villa have assets of ground and training facilities and much more as they are a prem outfit, we're not. Remember Steve Parking said it would take at least £100m to buy the club and give it a chance to get promoted, and he wasn't going to gamble his families inheritance on a whim

Eddie Gray has been speaking to Yorkshire radio about Leeds hopes for promotion

He said: "At the present time, I've got to be honest, we are a mediocre Championship side. A lot of fans are a bit disillusioned with how things have went. I don't think its been a good season in any shape or form.

"There is good points about the Football Club but overall at no stage this season did we look capable of finishing in the top six, which is disappointing especially when you consider teams up there like, Sheffield Wednesday have had their troubles, but they've got their house in order."

"I assess it... as a squad, which will finish mid table in the Championship next year if we don't improve it. Charlton, came here, they got relegated, and they were as good as us. I cannot think of a game we dominated for 90 minutes.

"We should be looking all over the pitch [for players]. It's got to be better than what we have got. The first XI has got to be improved.

Morning all ... Cellino is clearly an insane megalomaniac, and may even name his ex-director son as manager, wouldn't surprise me ... can't believe Sheridan is even in the running ... Villa went for £60m because Lerner wants out and he's cutting his losses, £150m was the price at start of season, but Chinese waited as they knew relegation was a possibility

Eddie Gray is such a negative soul, just listen to his awful commentary on LUTV ... everything is doom and gloom, and he struggles to get excited when we score ... this squad is not mediocre at all, it just needs a damn good manager who can get the team to play at their full potential every game ... when we switched on we matched all comers quite comfortably, and that showed Leeds had very good players ... the bad performances and late goal losses were down to the players not fighting for the manager

Ranieri has proven this at Leicester, where he transformed pretty much the same mediocre, relegation threatened squad into PL champions in just one season ... Ranieri did this not because of a £300m transfer kitty, but because of hid leadership skills and his ability to get every single person associated with the club fighting for the cause with belief and pride ... our problem is that Cellino is averse to hiring talented, quality managers because he needs them to bow to his will and also be cheap to dismiss ... FFS, he hired Hockaday and Lewis as the leadership team to take us to the Prem ... unless Cellino changes his ways and gets us a Quique Sanchez or a Martinez we will continue to labour in the Championship under the likes of an Evans ... I do agree though that we need additions to the squad

now about the Villa deal ... I was with a sports marketing company's CEO yesterday and we spoke a bit about the attraction of the PL to foreign investors, and how the massive global TV exposure drives investment because of the marketing opportunities ... this is becoming increasingly popular in Asia where club loyalty equals sponsor/owner brand loyalty (we're fcuked on this score with 32red as gambling is outlawed in that region) ... it's common knowledge that the Chinese in particular are looking increasingly at buying into English clubs as football grows in popularity ... the Chinese government recently launched an ambitious football coaching scheme where they are building 600 state-of-the-art youth academies across the country, with their stated goal to be world cup winners by 2050 ... this fuels their drive into football as a whole

the Villa sale has been coming for a while, and their new Chinese owner, a "long time" Villa fan, has been looking at investing in the club for over a year now ... what this means for Villa is that they will get stability, a plan for success, and probably at least 500,000 new Chinese "fans" who will buy their shirts and attract big money sponsors ... this will drive investment into the playing squad, but as is always the case, they still need to hire the right manager and support him properly ... it certainly looks like good times ahead for Villa, and after looking like a club who might do the double and drop straight down to Lge One, they will now probably be in the automatic promotion race

I asked why Leeds United just doesn't seem to interest any serious investors, considering the club's proud history, the huge international fan base and the fact that it's a one club city .... the feeling is that Leeds has a tarnished image, largely painted by the media, and contributed to by the hooligan element of the 1980s that seemed to be at the forefront of the violence of that era ... Leeds United is not seen as a great brand to invest in because it is a club that is popular to hate in England, and even young football followers who were born long after the Revie era refer to the club as "Dirty Leeds" ... wow, it's amazing how a negative perception can last for decades and cause damage to a brand ... add to this the ridiculous mismanagement that's gone on at Leeds since Ridsdale joined the board, and it's easy to see how people think that the Leeds United brand is "cursed" and "doomed"

now, personally, I don't believe Leeds United is a bad brand to be associated with, but perception of others is important, and while we have someone like Cellino in charge who creates a constant flow of negative headlines our brand will continue to suffer damage and drive away potential new supporters and sponsors ... I believe that if Leeds managed to get a billionaire investor the club would flourish, and we would become a force in football once again ... any club needs strong, reliable owners who lead the club properly, and right now we at Leeds United need this badly

Villa look as if they have a chance to restore their club to where it deserves to be, Leeds look a shambles and a place to avoid if you're a player, fan or sponsor

Is this the same Eddy Gray that I remember from my days in the old dart, he used to commentate on rugby league? If it is, he must be knocking on a bit.
