First half: Should have come out further ahead than 1-0. We were all over them. Milner should have had a penalty; it was a foul anywhere else on the pitch, their defender didn't even look at the ball, just charged into him under the high ball. Whatever, it was still a lead with 45 to go. Second half: Far too slow out the blocks, never gained any composure, no one stepped up, no one took control of the game or inspired others. Someone mentioned no leaders...correct there. Only play who comes out of that game with any pride is Toure tbh. The 35 veteran made more sprints and put in more of a shift than anyone half his age. Wasn't convinced with pulling Lallana for Allen as we then had just Coutinho on the pitch to create, who'd been poor all game, and we had nothing left to do other than lump it forwards. Poor. Very poor.
If there is any benefit from that sh!t we served up, is that it gives Klopp a reminder to get rid of all the sh!t in our squad.
Reports of moreno high fiving at ht.. clearly thought it was done and never listen at ht and then went out and got done. Disappointment should start with 5/10mins after goal. We never put foot on it and said ok let's get going here
I think your manager is to blame as much as some of the lack lustre shifts of a few of your players, at 1-1 Sevilla looked the better team, but at 2-1, he should have removed some of the poor midfield lads, Allen came on far too late, he allowed the game to drift away, saying that would it have changed things? Sevilla went up a gear, and you could not live with it, great performance from the Spanish outfit in fairness..........
C'mon doomsayers. Sevilla are a good team. There is a reason they have won the competition 3 times on the spin, they quite simply played us off the park in the second half. We couldn't get a touch. We lost the nerve and a competent team exploited that. The "****e" that lost the 2nd half actually looked very good in the first half, it is the mentality that we don't have!
If he cant give 100% then he needs fining by the club....i hate players not doing their utmost best....
Question is who do we replace with? We're probably no more competitive than West Ham on wages and even they can offer European football. (A team who also incidently bid a whopping 31 ****ing million for lacazette!?). We rely too much on our history. that's our only selling point. And most players now were born after we lost won the ****ing league. klopp needs to work his magic one way or the other this summer. Almost every player today is of sub standard at best.
They won because we were **** and bottled it. Not because hey were good. In fact I thought they looked distinctly average, which makes this defeat even harder.
From an outsiders point of view, I don't think you're giving Seville credit. Over the last few seasons they've a good track record in the Europa Cup and have been in the Super Cup Finals. They have a recent pedigree at this level. The pre-match coverage on BT Sport was cringeworthy, almost giving Seville no chance. Liverpool started well and had Seville on the ropes in the first half, but the game is over 90 mins not 45. Seville dished out a spanking in the second half. It's disappointing from Liverpools point of view, but Klopp and the Club have got to learn from this experience, impove the squad over the summer (which I am sure they will) and start next season on a positive note.
I'd spend another £20m on Lovren before I spend another £12 on Moreno. He's twice the defender Moreno is. And calling Cara a **** is too far.
