Dai, 170 million certainly sounds good....as does the 100 million or whatever you got for the last season. but it counts for f*** all if you spend 180 million on costs. Aber/CCFC have their opinion and it is a rational one. I crave the Premiership as do other fans. However, we all agree (even Swansea fans) that you are a total ****wit.

don't tell dai but even with all the riches he claims his club has got, yes even they couldn't sustain the business unless they pulled in outside investors......unlucky for them its a yank looking 2 invest............<laugh>........so all in all we are all living on borrowed time init <ok>

WoL says Trollope to be announced as new manager today. Yawn!!! I really hope Young will not be part of the package. If he is then it is just same old, same old.

    1. If correct, announcement due at 12.00, then at least it has been done quickly. Trollope can move on with shedding players and support staff (e.g. Young) he doesn't want and start getting new guys who will suit the style he wants to play (e.g. Immers).

Yeah!!! WoL says Young will not be part of Trollope's first team support group but will remain with the club in some sort of role. I guess Row berry will step up.

Just read it myself and despite being a Rhondda boy myself, I see this as good news. Hopefully the next level of the set up will be more exciting.

Need to see the retained list now. Hopefully some good news there. Who gets released will be a sign of intent. Hopefully many of Slade's signings will disappear, a few youngsters will be given a chance and a couple of bits of quality will be added between now and the start of pre-season. A little concerned that Trollope will be off with Wales during what should be a very busy time for him domestically.

Maybe he can pick up some inspirational signings. I read that Ramsey and Bale speak very highly of Trollope. <whistle>

I just hope the majority of our support will give him a chance. Social media is already suggesting plenty have decided this is another kick in the teeth from Tan. It would be sad if we have another season with our support taking 3/4's of the season to get behind the team.

Appointing Trollope might work, it might not, but my opinion is supporters should support until they have a real reason not to. The club not employing the totally unproven Bellamy is not a reason to slate the management and the board.

Good points Stevo. While the appointment does not excite we must at least give him a chance. He knows the club and players - those he wants and doesn't. He will know what he needs to bring in to stamp his style and he has 2 1/2 months or so to do it, less Euros time. If Rowberry is to be his no. 2 then he will have clear instructions in Trollope's absence and have prompt contact when needed.

To knock back the guy before he can do anything is ridiculous.

The other key issue is the budget size Tan allows. If we see him going for Slade price level players then that will give a message in itself.

Trollope would have been the "cheap" choice, but If we leave the money side out of it, there's no reason why he shouldn't take the playing side of the club to a level that far exceeds what was achieved by Slade.

Now appointed, he certainly deserves the support of the supporter base in the same way his players and Tan himself have publicly demonstrated.

You know it wouldn't surprise me at all if he turned around the "on pitch" stuff from the dour Slade offerings into something pleasurable to watch rather than just suffer.

The real test will as always be the results. He's the whole of the close season to focus on the right players and systems.

From a selfish point of view I just wish he wasn't going to be involved with Wales in the Euros. There was some talk about him quitting the role and Coleman recalling Kit Symons back into the role - I hope that actually happens.

Bloody marvelous you,ve made it. So you wont be going bust again.........what about making a gesture and thanking those who supported you in your hour of need....., by donating to a charity. What about donating your Income from the gate receipts after all its not that great given your average is around 19,000?

Sorry to bring it up but sometimes those who live in a goldfish bowl need reminding theres a world out there that supported them, but there again only goldfish live in the bowl and we know how long their memory span is!!!

This quote from him sort of points towards the 'hamstrung by Slade' comment I made earlier in the thread.

"Every coach has own philosophies and way of doing things. I have clear ideas what I want. I will bring my own style to that. Anyone who knows me will know that."

He's not going to be given millions to spend and I seriously doubt Wales will want to change anything so close to the tournament. So he's going to need to have a good efficient summer in a short space of time. Quite a big ask but no one said taking us up a level would be easy.

I'm fairly happy as I was really worried about a new experienced management wanting to come in and want to tear what we have to bits putting his 'stamp' on things. We don't need that and we can' afford it either. The idea of getting a big name in appealed for a bit but I'm hopeful a bit of clever business can see us build again from this season if we can do that we'll be in the mix.

Looking to next year I hope the Geordies don't keep Rafa. He's would have kept them up if they'd given him long enough, he's far too good for the championship, as is their squad. Ashley will pay the losses for a year and probably invest. It's only my opinion but I think the rest of us are playing for 2nd place if they manage to get him to stay.

    1. I couldn't give a damn what people from the second city have to say

    2. not exactly and unpredictable choice given slades been kept on but good to see that young has gone

    3. best of luck to trollop. I just hope that he can inject some quality players, gets the support from tan and oversees some more attacking and entertaining football

    4. if we make top 6 all good and well but I think it will be too much of an ask to even consider the top 2 bearing in mind the strength of the teams coming down

Nigel and Rotherham have parted company, would anyone want him as the new manager?
