TeamTalk.com have a totally ludicrous article by "The Secret Footballer" stating that Citys bank credit is maxed out and all players will be put on the transfer list in a fire sale. How these idiots can get things so badly wrong is laughable.
Nothing would surprise me these days. I wouldn't be surprised if we have invested all our money in the British Steel industry.
What a joke that secret footballer is. There is no chance we are in financial trouble just because Aviva have not renewed their sponsorship (which was roughly a £1m a year apparently). Most likely the next sponsor will be paying even more. As Michael Bailey says, you have to wonder whether this amounts to defamation and the club could take legal action.
It has been an open secret for about 18 months now that the Aviva deal wouldn't be renewed. I would be certain we have had our next shirt sponsor lined up for months.
The TalkNorwichCity youtube channel I sometimes post on here, has a new video titled nearly the same as this thread. I haven't watched it yet, but said to my gf.."wtf is this!?"
I'm fairly sure the "secret footballer" has been outed as Dave Kitson. I can't imagine he knows a great deal about Norwich finances!
I can't imagine anyone outside the boardroom and our bank have a scoobies of our true financial position, and that includes KIO.
The club's accounts are available online for all to see. Obviously with a June year end you can only see the figures up to June 2015 but the net assets don''t look perilous to me...
Spot on. Commercial income was £7.3m in 2015 and £9.1m in 2014. Even worst case scenario, shirt sponsorship won't be more than half of that commercial income (given all the other sponsorship). So it's max £4.5m per year (suspect it's considerably less...) and Aviva have signed up for another deal, so it really just frees up an opportunity to make more money.
