I never seem to do that well at certain courses for some reason and Bath would be one of them, a couple of selections there however for small stakes until moving on to Kempton in the evening for a proper punt.

    Bath
    2.20 Man Look 11-2

I always felt this horse had a race in him last season but he never quite managed to live up to expectations, I am willing to take the view that he is not without talent and now on a decent mark.
    5.50 Swirrel Edge 3-1
Ran well for a long way on his seasonal debut and that should stand him in good stead for this.

    Kempton
    7.25 Higher Power 7-2

Best bet of the day, ran a great race under a very poor ride on seasonal debut and pulled out of a better race last weekend.

Good luck Blue but just want to point out that the form of Higher Powers Haydock race is not panning out at all well. I have been keeping a close eye on it!

Yep, me too with Bath, Bluesky, although I dimly recall one winner many years ago. Think I'll have a small Patent on your two along with the Kempton one, they don't look bad at all. Hope I don't mogador them..........:emoticon-0101-sadsm

(Maybe Bath track consultant, NassauBoard, has one or two, if he does, will chuck those in too, so will hold off on the Patent a wee bit).

Make that a full house. Bath is one I avoid almost all the time barring I feel a horse is really well in...It invariably still loses <laugh>

Think that Nassauboard fella is a massive fan if memory serves me right.

Showing my age now, but one of my unwritten punting rules was to back Pat Eddery whenever he rode at Bath. Can't for the life of me remember why, or whether it was a successful rule <laugh>

Ah, dear old Pat, one of my all-time favourite jockeys. Fortunate enough to see him ride down here at the Munich-Riem track once, in a Group 1, towards the end of his career. On checking, raced second most of the way, took the lead entering the straight, and that was that! Outsmarted the lot of them.** (Odds-on favourite Equerry (Frankie Dettori) a distant 4th). Nice price, I backed his horse, goes without saying! RIP Pat, you were a fine jockey and horseman, and left us at far too young and age. <rose>
**(Found it, it was the 2002 Group 1 Grosser Dallmayr-Preis won by Kaieteur, trained by Brian Meehan).

"Patrick James John "Pat" Eddery (18 March 1952 – 10 November 2015) was an Irish flat racing jockey and horse trainer. He rode three winners of the Epsom Derby, and was Champion Jockey on eleven occasions. He is co-holder of the record for most title championships as well as wins in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. He rode the winners of 4,632 British flat races, a figure exceeded only by Sir Gordon Richards."

Northern Thunder looked value in the Ayr opener. Ran a decent 3rd on debut and the 2nd won by many lengths since.

Hannon has had a really strange start IMO with his two year olds and I think they may come on for a run more under Hannon Jr than when they used to win first time out under his father.

Upped in trip and better clued up, it will take a good one to lower the colours- although Faheys got an expensive one on debut.

Perhaps we have a problem with Bath because of the drainage system?!

...which is slightly ironic given that, altitude wise,it's the highest flat racecourse in Britain.

Tough race to find the winner in, I had free £5 bet so I've stuck that on the Fahey runner Dalton @ 3/1

Looking beyond the openers for a change, 2 caught my eye.
San Cassiano, 3.45 at Ayr and Maleficent Queen, 4.20 at Ayr, with the later likely to get my punt.
I'm also finding it hard to ignore Goninodaethat in the 2.35 at Ayr - only 1 pound higher than the last win at Ayr, and this is a regular round the course, so that also gets some small change thrown its way.

    Good Luck

Like this one too Toppy, seems a very long way to go with his only runner as the other is a nr as I think this could have been entered in a race a little closer to home.

Looking later on this evening, a race I'm interested in is the 7.25 at Kempton.
Tangramm is running off a mark of 83 after some stunning recent results rising up the weights and running at various venues and distances, since an opening win at 55 at Wolverhampton in November. The form is 11121111.
It will be good to see how it does today.
I may even be tempted to show some support, it's currently 11/1 on Bet365.
