So Mi Dar ruled out of the Oaks. Apparently she is lame and will be aimed at the Irish Oaks.

FFS <steam>:emoticon-0121-angry:emoticon-0130-devil:emoticon-0132-envy: 33/1 ante post slip in shreds.

Told you we weren't putting anyone away. He ran a decent race today and if any of you have seen the head on you will see he was bumped three times in the final. He is still a great big baby and will have learnt a lot from that today. I don't feel the track suited him and he will definitely benefit from stronger handling. I would personally like to see him somewhere simpler like Warwick as he is a big horse who may handle a track like that better. I will eat my many hats if he can't win off his mark.
Squire has been on antibiotics following a dirty scope last week but should be out again in the next fortnight or so. Would love to run them on the same day and try for a double.

It wasn't the clearest of passages, not sure how much was hornbys fault but it very often gets congested down the far side so you always run the risk. Think he was fine on the course and the ground. I think he wants stepping up a furlong or 2 as he wasn't stopping at the line and looked a bit done for toe early and was bustled to keep up. I don't think he will win off his current mark, think it needs to start with a 5 personally although he is still a bit of a baby and could still come on a fair bit for experience and could still be getting his confidence back after the horror injury he had. Just glad to see him back on the track enjoying himself as was touch and go.

Had the fright of my life earlier when I saw the price had collapsed and I hadn't got on! Thought I had missed a call or text.... Just shows how weird it all is as Attwater was very guarded about his chances. Wonder whether hornby thought he was well in off 62 and spread the word cos it wasn't anyone at the yard or the owners

    He'll win alright
    (a) he is still a big baby
    (b) he has just recovered from a horrific accident
    (c) he has acquired a very generous handicap mark through his placings (which don't reflect his ability)
    (d) I still remember that burst of acceleration he showed on his début
    (e) just check out the form of his second race
    (f) he has a decent pedigree

What more could you wish for. Good luck stick and Don. I think you will have some fun with this one.
