Woy wants it both ways. can't play if you're not fit and haven't played enough: selects Delph, Henderson, Wilshire, Sturridge. the man's an idiot. perfect fit for the FA and will no doubt **** it up at the finals. Try youth in friendlies and qualifying. The finals are where you need players fit and in form. no room for passengers. Potentially only 7 games. Team needs to be settled and consistent not accommodating youth for 'experience only' purposes. i've found loads of better options based purely on stats and contributions over the season. defence: Cresswell, Dann, Dawson, Simpson, Ward midfield: Noble, Redmond, Walcott, Daniels, King forward: Deeney, Defoe, Carroll, Wickham, Jerome not saying they'd all be the right fit for England but all of these scored higher than certain counterparts in Woy's squad - some of whom will actually start games.
I'm disappointed for Defoe as I believe he has earned a place in the squad. Having said that, at least he should be fresh and raring to for us next season..
Sturridge is probably in better form than Defoe, Deeney, Carroll, Wickham and Jerome, taking the last 15 or so games into account. Why you've put Wickham in there I've no idea, he's scored less goals than anybody who's been selected as striker. Jerome, well **** knows what you've been sniffing but don't go sharing it around.
I've just listed 5 or so from each position who've scored higher in fantasy football stats compared to some who've been selected in the squad. Wickham and Jerome aren't a good fit considering who's ahead of them but they've performed better than Rashford and Sturridge have this season. Sturridge has only started 15 games all season so doubt he's in much finer fettle than the others. Just pointing out the stats. Interpret it anyway you want but Woy's being a massive hypocrite and showing considerable favouratism in his squad selection.
What on earth does fantasy football have to do with anything? The reason Dann's in there is because he's scored 5 goals, he was also part of the Palace team who lost about 15 on the bounce. You've not highlighted better players, all you've done is chat about some silly newspaper game that bares absolutely no relevance to form, or ability. Sturridge has outscored every striker you listed in his last 15 games, I know that without counting them, all competitions... I'm not gonna count them, because I know he has.
Don;t give a **** about England! Since the Keegan/Shearer management team stopped Kevin Phillips being selected I have lost interest. Will probably find myself supporting whoever they're playing just because I dislike them so much and Hodgson is an idiot "Yes Man" and suits the FA down to the ground. When you pick Wilshere and Henderson after around 90 minutes of football between them in the last 3 months it shows exactly what you have to do to be in the England squad - get injured! Yeah but he never played a minute. Only English player ever to win the European golden boot and never played a tournament game for England. Hedley was preferred ahead of him which says it all for me
I remember Shearer and Owen being ahead of him, Heskey was one of those players, like Vassell, I never really understood his inclusion in the side. Andy Cole was always overlooked as well, it never really bothered me to be honest.
