There`s never a Bletchley around when you need one. Who needs enigma and wind-talkers when we`ve got comm?
He tries to be nasty when he's pissed but nobody takes pissed Comm seriously. We all know he's a big softie really.
I love this board - every second poster went to "The Billy Connolly School for Message Board Posters"! Especially when the topic is The Bar-codes!
Big budget 1960's crime drama set between Darlinghurst and Alice Springs. The trouble is it's pretty dark and pretty political so the commercial channels like 7, 9 and 10 won't touch it out of fear. Hopefully someone at foxtel has a brain fade as it crosses their desk.
We've been 'brain-washed' with these 'outback' docu/drama/politic/mystery shows for yonks "Disco". Shows like 'Wolf Creek', 'The Code', 'Glitch', 'Hiding' and the recent 'Wanted'. Couple these with the 'Jack Irish' series and 'Janet King' you will have a hard time getting something past those. I wish you well though and Foxtel would be your best bet.
Hahaha cheers for the tip mate but I wouldn't have bothered if I thought it was going to be another to add to that list. I've done my research. The very reason it could work is that it's not just another vehicle for Rebecca Gibney. It's primarily for a British audience as that's where the budget would come from to make it more than a run of the mill aussie production like those you've listed. I just need an Aussie channel/distributer attached to encourage a British production company to come in as a co-producer along with the aussie production company who're involved currently.
In that case mate you should try the Ethnic TV Station SBS. They have some excellent controversial shows on. We are watching the excellent "Bosch" series just now.
Good shout. SBS and the ABC are probably a possibility but it would likely hinge on getting a production company called "Black Fella films" involved who get a lot of funding/grants. There's less money than foxtel/netflix but they know their ****. Those two are ok out of the subscription free channels, the rest are very much focussing on staged reality TV.
Yes, you've probably heard that the Government are making some very steep cut-backs in this section of the entertainment world so you'll be pushing **** uphill but good luck to you.
True but the drama quota for ABC has been pushed up from 15 hours of broadcasting material a year to 30. Which is encouraging. The projects at the bottom of the pile are the ones who miss out on funding. Just need to make sure it mine finds its way to the top.
