Played against Mick Buckley when he was playing for Sunderland Reserves at Ryhope CW. My over riding memory from him in that game was that he showed me what you needed to be a professional footballer. There was a ball going coming to him dropping from the heavens with snow on. I thought for us regular mortals the concentration would be just try and control the ball and then play. He was two steps ahead. He knew what he was going to do with it before it even hit his feet. He was a nice lad after the game as well. Big mates with Mick Docherty who Iater I got to know when he was coach at Whitley Bay.....Mick RIP mate....you were a good lad....
Was anybody on here at Southend away in 2006? It was during Quinny's little stint as manager before Keane took over. We lost 3-1 but making his debut for us was a Spanish midfielder called Arnau Riera. He had a good game and had a lovely left foot on him, knocking some great passes about. We were singing his name in the away end at Roots Hall and I thought we'd found a proper player. He got sent off in his next game and never played for Sunderland again.
Just in the last few days we've been entertaining the idea of going back. I don't like long flights, that's all that's putting me off booking it. Thinking about going to Cabo this year though, if not this year I'll definitely go back next year.
Unfortunately we will not go back to Mexico The flight and jet lag was too much for my wife ( me too ) Where is cabo
It's way over the other side, in the Gulf of California/Pacific Ocean area. Did your sofa arrive yet?
