    Citeh were appalling today.

Pundits bang on about them having the 'best squad' in the league, its bullshit they have the most expensive and overrated squad. Most of the players don't bother half the time and the others aren't as good as everyone thinks they are.
Sterling is a prime example of both.

Airports are mostly security theatre, it doesn't actually improve security much but for just billions of pounds and hours of inconvenience you can give the impression you're making things safer.

Actually no...Belgium proves that inner airport security is effective albeit treating everyone as a suspect as Lucaas pointed out.

What amazed me is that so much effort went into keeping planes in the sky because it was spectacular but little effort into protecting the hub with the most people...check in. Glasgow was the pre warning and I remember saying at the time I was surprised it wasn't the first terrorist thought...a place with hundreds of people with hundreds of large bags...

How does it prove it was effective? The attacks happened because of multiple massive security failures. Imagine if billions of rescources weren't being wasted on modern nonsense (which tests show fail to find 95% of explosives and weapons).

BTW 9/11 wasn't suicide bombers so all the post-9/11 security measures are irrelevant. Someone wearing an explosive vest would have been stopped before all the new measures.

How many planes have been blown up or hijacked, even in ****ty corrupt countries?

Which attacks are you talking about?

Actually the equipment is proved to be too sensitive....I know this first hand as well.

really the guys who hijacked planes and flew them into buildings weren't suicide bombers :headbang:
quite what makes you think that someone wearing an explosive vest would hsave been detected the whole thrust of security used to be to make it so you would either be captured or killed if you tried to carry out an operation now the rules have changed

The equipment isn't too sensitive it's too crap.

The main good security decision to come out of 9/11 is the idea to reinforce and lock cabin doors. (Even that with tragic irony led to 150 deaths.)

No they were hijackers and carried no explosives. Their success was because of poor security of the airplane cabins and **** all to do with "swabbing laptops for traces of explosives" or 100ml fluid bottles.

They were flying massive bombs and committed suicide by flying them into buildings <doh>

You do know why they swab laptops for explosives and limit liquids in hand luggage to 100ml don't you?

and how does that not make them suicide "bombers"
hijackers don't normally intend to martyr themselves though accepting the risk in certain circumstances when involved in terrorist organisations

Yes, because of a plot to use liquid explosives, a plot which real security measures foiled before they even got to the airport.

So because the belt stopped it once you don't think the braces are needed?

You don't think thousands of gallons of plane fuel is a massive bomb?
