Its amazing what has happened in this little 20 mile radius of Hull… lets hope we finish the story off. North Ferriby, Grimsby and unlucky Scunny. Congrats to all of them.

A very strange and Bitter interview from Paul Hirst on the radio towards his own fans straight after the final whistle

I'd thought they'd found their level where they were.

Wasn't it…. he always bores me to death in his after match interviews… what would he have been like if they'd lost..

As they refer to us as the Mudrats, I don't give if a **** if they go up, stay down, or get relegated next season on zero points.

Some rather naive and out-of-touch sentiments on this thread.
That town hates Hull with a passion, it's probably because they've been so inept for so long and not had to play them that some of our younger fans seem to erroneously think of them as a plucky little local team from over the water.
They're not - they wish Hull all the worst, and the reason it's all gone quiet over there is because we've done so well for the last 15 years and they've been so ****, otherwise they'd be on here on a daily basis. Like Scunthorpe, when they were above us, they were full of it....and when the cream rises to the top they vanish of course.

    In short, **** GY.

I can understand this viewpoint but nowadays they really are just a plucky side from across the water. Same way Leeds are a plucky team holding their own in the Championship but who won't hang on forever no matter how good they once were. I grew up hating Scunthorpe in the late 90s early 00s but now they're just another cute nearby side who I don't mind doing well at all.

WIth Grimsby, football is only a part of the reasons for hating Hull.

They have a real chip (no puns please) on their shoulder. Always looking for a scrap (no puns please)with Hull.
We're even competing with each other on renewables investments.

I'm happy if any of our neighbours do well. I don't really care about their views of us.

No love for Grimsby here. They were the bigger team before and our upturn in fortunes happened just as their decline was getting into full swing. I was happy about that then and I don't feel any different now. They're still **** so **** em.

As much as I don't care.

They aren't our rivals and never will be. As much as they might want to be. We don't truly have one.

They loathe Hull, the team and the city. I was at a pre-season a few years back and they attacked old lads. Proper old lads. Horrible place, and not a very nice club.

The chances of a thread on a Grimsby site if we go up, saying well done to us are similar to Jimmy Saville getting his knighthood back...

    Queer twats at Grimsby.
Theyve just got back in the league and half the talk on RH is about the bitterness towards the fans.
    Youd think theyd just lost

I've googled it before and forgotten. Where the hell is Forest Green? It's not like Grimsby have beaten the real Forest.

Football is like this now. It's the same on here. We get an amazing win and for some people the first thought is to have a go at people who've previously been negative when we've not won.
