Interesting approach today Shergy for the followers, no favourites in sight. No strong views only that I've backed Neebras ew in the 235 but good luck with the other two mate <laugh>

I agree with 2 of your choices shergs! Harris Tweed & Bannock, I think Western Aristocrat will be too strong for the field! But Good Luck mate!<ok>

I know the Strong Suit form of Western Aristercat looks good, but that was over 7f, not a mile, you also have to remember Strong Suit carried a penalty that day. Richard Hills I'd imagine will make the running, and make it a stamina test. Tazahum has the best form over a mile aswell, so I'd rather side with him at 9/2 than the 6/4 jolly

Another poor ride by Richard Hills on Tazahum. Should've made more use of him. How the hell he still retains the position of first jockey to Hamdan Al Maktoum is one of the great wonders of the world. It's about time that the Hills twins were put out to pasture.

Chance Gardener.....Agreed I expected him to make all, instead he holds him up and doesn't put him in the race, he finished full of running on the outside, he just didn't have the turn of foot to make up the ground. Wether he would have won, it's impossible to say, but atleast give the horse a fair chance. Harris Tweed was another one of my shoo ins who lost the race because of a poor ride, this time it was Liam Jones, who was in prime position on the rails yet he moved off the rails and allowed the winner a run up his inside to mug him close home, criminal stuff.

Well done Istabraq on your 2 winners, Harber Watch impressed me alot

Yeah me aswell. I think 6/1 for the 2000 Guineas is still a little short but 7f looks like no problem for him and if hes going to turn out as a miler than who better to handle him than the Hannon clan...

Istabraq....You can get 14s for the Guineas still, not that I'd be backing anything at this stage:biggrin:

Take no notice, Shergar. Some people just sit there waiting for a great horse, good jockey/trainer, or a contributor to this forum to fail, and then in they go with the hatchet with remarks such as "LMAO, most overhyped ....... ever", etc., etc. A lot of it is blatant anti-British and comes from the other side of the small pond. Notice they rarely if ever do it with any of their's? Cannot understand why they don't stay away and use their own forums, or maybe they just don't have any? Again, just ignore them.

I think people like to snipe at Shergar as he puts himself on a pedestal to be knocked down at times. I'm sure he worries very little about these people!

I'm disappointed undertones of racism have crept in here, don't see what that has to do with the criticism Shergar has taken? I thought this site was free of this type of thing but obviously not.

Beeforsalmon: Yes, regrettably, my comment does appear that way although not intended as such. It just seems to happen so often from one or two people who snipe at any failure as described. Guess I am too sensitive to it, but it is quite true you know................Very hard to ignore, but must try harder!

There are snipers on here - from lots of places and not just Ireland. The majority of it is not anti British - it's anti specific trainers or horses or anti individual posters. I trust that when people laugh on here at the failure of Aidan o Brien's horses people are similarly outraged?

Anyway, in teh asbence of a dialy thread I may as well mention on here that i've backed a Hannion horse today - Golden destiny 3-20 Newbury. I think today's the day that it breaks its duck..

It would be foolish to snipe at a great trainer like AOB or feel outraged at his countless triumphs. That would be a one-way ticket to the happy home as he ranks with people like Bart Cummings, Henry Cecil, André Fabre, etc., as one of the world's top trainers. Actually, he is an amusing character and a bit quirky too, with his sunglasses, his "fern" calls after each big race success. No, AOB, is not one to trifle with.
