There's been loads of stories about Sanchez Flores leaving Watford, I think he's leaving after the season ends.

He has done well, that's why Watford's players look like they're pissed off and stopped playing. I think the owners are planning to sack him, unless they've got somebody good lined up I reckon it could be a long season for Watford next time.

No idea why Flores was sacked. To take a club like Watford, who've bumbled about the lower leagues for yonks, and get them a 13th (at this stage) finish in a premier league that this season has been chaotic and unpredictable as **** - they should be knighting the fella. If he was British of course. I know the owners of Watford are the owners of Udinese (our supposed club "model"), and might be dreaming of loftier ambitions of getting Sir Alex out of retirement, or pipping United to Jose. They should have stuck with Flores, he was a decent manager imo.

Put it this way, had we been relegated and Big Sam left I'd have no worries about having Sanchez Flores as his replacement.

    Rate him highly.

Got a ring of Newcastle about it, sacking Flores when he did so well for them. But not well enough apparently.

They must have something up their sleeve.

It's like when Poch took over Adkins at Southampton, nobody really wanted Adkins sacked from what I gather but it ended up being a good decision in the end. I wonder who Watford have lined up.

Hoping Watford do ****house next year now, and get relegated. EPL is getting ridiculous. Now even the managers that meet their targets are getting sacked!

"Listen Quique, we are just after premier league survival. That's all. So long as in the 2016-2017 season we are an EPL team, you've done your job. Anything above 17th, and you've exceeded expectations."

... May 2016. "Yeah, I know we said we expected survival, but 13th isn't Top 10, which is what we really meant. Gonna have to let you go. We've got our eyes set on Wor Rafa, he's available now and looking for a proper top 4 team. Don't let the door hit you on the way out."

He was not sacked exactly - He left because "He and the club do not have the same point of view about the season" and said that "we don't have the necessary conditions to activate the clause in the contract to renew for the next season"
He will still be in charge on Sunday.

Aye. Watford have done well, he created a canny little team. To get the boot now is ridiculous.

The way I read that is that they didnt have the same view on the season... Flores thought that safety was the goal, management expected more? Not sure Flores is going to say to the board "Yeah, I know you wanted safety, but i wanted Champions League football, so i've failed. Here's my P45." To me, he's disagreed with the boards view on what they expected to constitute a good season and his, and maybe they wanted to win the league next year a la Leicester, to which he disagreed and there was the mutual leaving.

We'll never know, but Watford imo are stupid for letting him go.

I know the owners have kinda looked to make Watford the priority in their little empire (Udinese, Granada, & Watford) potentially for the money involved. They might be trying to have grander and loftier ambitions than Flores, but will come crashing back down to earth next season if the next manager isn't as good as him. I have heard they can be a nightmare to deal with, and in the Championship exploited all sorts of loopholes with basically sending the Udinese team over there to get them out of the Championship, but if memory serves me correctly Zola missed out in the playoffs and they sacked him? Seem like tough people to work for

Its been well known that he was a dead man walking for quite a while now.

He gets a rag-tag bunch of strangers at a small club pulled together, makes a team and gets them promoted, secures a small team in EPL when they were joint favourites to go down and gets them to the FA Cup semi-final!

Thats a bloody good season for them by anyone's standards!

What do these foreign owners expect of managers these days?

I wouldn't wish it on their fans, but I hope they get slaughtered next season!

There's barely any loyalty in football anymore, it's becoming a relic from the past and that's sad.
