These South London clubs generally have forwards who stick the ball in the net. Do you think PC has something against Afro West Indian players as we only have one? I would like to see more at FP. And Black and Asian supporters as well!!
Fratton Park sold out for the first leg, and also sold out for second leg match at Home Park, including the measly allocation of 1,700 tickets for Pompey fans
Adebayo Akinfenwa aka. "The Beast" is a man mountain - extremely aggressive, but he can score goals. He has got to be in his mid - thirties now. I remember seeing him play for Torquay against Pompey in a pre-season friendly at Plainmoor quite a few years ago.
You need a taxi to get around him these days Wooperts and he sometimes needs a taxi to get around the pitch. Great striker in his time but is past it now in my opinion. He of course came on to score and take the points off us didn't he at Home Park this season. Trouble with allocation of tickets is we do not have much capacity these days at Home Park so 1700 is about it I'm afraid. There is a whole section of our ground unused these days where we used to have seats installed on a standing area. Had to for the Championship. We then slumped and they were costing money but surpluss to requirements. They took them out and there is no way our current owner is going to fund them going back. Capacity now around 16900. You have a much bigger ground so our allocation there is going to be more generous. I believe the away tickets are nearly sold and the home ones the same.
Pompey have to go all out tonight and put this to bed, if we go down there less than 2 ahead I can't see it happening.
I'll have you know I've been up to Home Park today with my massage ointment. The team had already gone but the thought was there. I just hope that the game is a credit to this league and to the clubs concerned. May the best team win.
Why is it whenever we have a big match we get a weak referee? Plymouth should be down to 10 men yet we are 2-1 down.
This ref is an absolute joke. Plymouth could be down to 8 men. 9 wouldn't be harsh he has bottled it completely.
It was a good goal from McNulty to get things going but poor defending to conceed the equalizer - though that could be down to the Keeper being a new signing and not knowing the defence all that well - a very good goal from Matt for Plymouth to take the lead - though he probably should have been sent off for the headbutt - and we were lucky to get the penalty to get to 2-2 - it was a foul but it started outside the box and should have been a freekick, not a penalty.
Keeper should have punched it, no way was he going to get to that. As for the second goal, he didn't extend his arm really... But a good match overall, had it been the league, I'd have been happy. As it's the play-offs and due to my traumatic memories of previous play-offs, we'd have needed to have won by at least 3 goals for me to be happy. In fairness, my previous traumatic experiences have all been in the final...
