What an idiotic commentary. As they crossed the line he says 2nd Brando, never nearer. Brando was never further away. Twat
Cheers lads. Very well treated on his older form, wasn't expecting him to win that easy though! Will surely head to Epsom now again for the dash where he will have a great chance of following up if in the same vein of form.
Journey was 5/2 when I last seen the betting for the 2.40, she's now 11/8 I was contemplating putting Ballybacka Queen up but I think she will be vulnerable from the front in this class of race so just a watching brief.
Can anyone help. If I've done a double and took the price at the time, not the sp and the first horse is a non runner does the first horse get classed as a loss and I've lost my bet or does the total stake all go on to my second horse as a single?
Poor from Frankie there on Journey - the horse needs further but is usually a front runner. He lost the race by sitting behind rather than going on. The horse has the stamina to run the finish out of the others but by sitting behind allowed himself to be taken for speed.
That muddies the water even more re the Derby...what a crazy year, contenders coming out of the woodwork and bubbles being burst all ove the shop.
I wasn't that impressed with that race, I would be surprised if the winner of the Derby was on display today. There looked for me to be some good horses on display but no group one horses. The commentator waxed lyrical afterwards but I couldn't see what he did that would cause such a thing, he is decent but I did not get the same impression I got of Golden Horn last year in this race.
The warning signs for the Midterm form were there for all to see at Chester. Terrible bunch of 3 year olds but surprising he was outclassed as easily. If I was having a dart at the Derby I'd probably side with the Guineas runner up, Massaat but it's hard to get too excited by any of them.
Sorry, just catching up as had the races on pause since just before the Salisbury race. Just watched the Dante. Midterm never going well. Surely that wasn't his running, or maybe can't act on a sound surface. I think we can safely cross that one off the list. Wouldn't surprise me too much if one of the first two home could win the Derby
The first two past the post in the 3.45 at York, Always Smiling and Convey both look worth following. I can easily see Convey winning at Epsom's Derby meeting as there is a handicap that Sir Michael likes to run just this type of horse in.
That looked an awful fall, hope all ok. Does anyone know why Frankie never rode the winner Eastern Angel and was on Exist instead?
