Smithies/Ingham Perch Robinson Hall Bedlum El kayhati Lughano Polter Washington Plus the youngsters used end of season Five, maybe six additions required or it could be sqeaky bum time!
Agree Facto El kayhati and Washington were crap on Saturday add Polter into mix and you have very few goals next year.
Yes ellers as good as it will be to see the back of the high earners the future looks worrying with what's left!
Said the same on Saturday mate. At least the 'wasters' can pass and control a ball. That Polter header against Reading was worse than mine when i was 12. It sums up our future. People will say at least they try but that won't win you games. If reports are true that both Ale/Hill are going and Hoilett wants out then we will be less competitive. Be Ironic if both end up at Rotheram and Warnock achieves promotion?
This thread is literally the most ridiculous thing I've read. Smithies/Ingram - we have two of the best keepers in the league. Defensively, we need to improve in the centre. Robinson, when he's fit will be one of the best left backs in the league. Hall will only get better with experience. In midfield, Luongo and Chery have both had promising starts. El Khayati will improve now he's has a taste. We need another winger, and a hard grafter CM. Upfront, we need another striker but it certainly is nowhere near relegation form. Lighten up.
Blimey you watch different players from me then..and I played the game at a high level so know what I'm talking about!
El Khayati looked like a non-league player on Saturday. Washington doesn't even look like scoring, Polter is well....Polter. Chery and Luongo both have gone missing in games and Hall seems to have gone backwards a bit, but then if you have 'Chump' next to you as a captain i can see why. However you are correct it's not all doom and gloom as we do have some young exciting player coming through. My argument is that in this division you need a tough team with experience or you will get pushed around. Losing a leader like Hill and a football brain like Ale's will be hard to replace and i don't want to see any more League One players replacing quality because as Washington has proved You can score for fun against crap defences but its a different story in the Championship.
I don't think you realise how bad the Championship actually is. We are 3 or 4 players away from a good team. You can't judge players in a non-entity game. Nobody cared. El-Khayati may have looked like a non league on the weekend, I'm sure he'll be fine.
I do, that's what the problem is elnino! I have said all season that it's a poor division and we still only managed mid-table? Christ knows what would have happened if we never had Charlies goals or the players before they went out on loan? What worries me, as Facto says is that we are losing quality and replacing it with... whatever. Agree, we should no longer shop in Harrods but to go straight to the Pound shop without even looking in Sainsbury's is a worry.
If you think keeping Clint Hill and Ale Faurlin is key to promotion next year, we might as well go home now. Faurlin is not the player he was in 2010. And Clint Hill, as great as he is, is what 53 now? Let's be serious. As for the comment about League One players; I agree, I don't wish to see too many from their either. However, let's not kid ourselves about it being a different story in the Championship. A lot of the teams, and players there are still very, very bad.
I'm hoping the lure of JFH will bring a flood of talented young Dutch players to the club. But then I do hope for a lot of wonderful things that never materialise.
I think you have miss quoted me Elninio. I never said that keeping Hill/Faurlin is key to promotion i said we would be 'less competitive', and we will. I don't think we will get promoted with JFH as manager. As for your comment about Hill? I think that is a bit disrespectful for such a loyal committed player. I would go on and say that he was better than both Washington and El Kayhati on Saturday for a 'non-entity game'? And for a 53yr old that is not bad. Best defender on the park Saturday even without his shin pad.
Faurlin was still our best midfielder this season, not sure we will find a replacement as good as him based on evidence of recent new players coming in. I'm not hopefull!
