Both teams will beat Everton and Manure/Chelsea on holidays so don't fancy our chances,Villa to put us down again, sorry
Circumstances couldn't be more different with this Villa game than 09 though, back then they were comfortable safe, had a decent manager and Carew, Agbonlahor, Barry etc...this time they're relegated, have lost the last 11, have no manager, and will be without Agbonlahor, Grealish, Cissohko, etc. Plus we're playing way better atm than we were in 09. Don't wanna jinx it but as has been said if we can't beat this Villa team we deserve to go down. I'd say we're currently favourite to stay up, but any result for the markets v chelsea swings things back their way.
My thoughts exactly.. If we win at the Vile and the Mackems lose their next 2 games as well as Norwich, then we are staying up with a game to go. Its all down to the Vile game, Please play well team!!!!!
If we can't beat Villa in a game that has them playing for nothing but pride...we really have no business staying in this league.
Aye, it will be all over midweek. We needed to somehow get 9 ;points from pour last 3 games and pray it was enough. It probably wouldn't have been enough anyway, but it was our only hope.
No real surprises so it doesn't really hurt. We just haven't been good enough overall and once again the hierarchy have made the same mistakes by not acting early enough.
Sorry lads but there's no chance we'll upset the apple cart at the mackems midweek, as the players are tanking to ensure the demise of Martinez.
Spent about 15 mins reading this thread on how newcastle will be safe and how norwich and sunderland are going down. Well yous were right about norwich. Its not all over til the fat lady sings however. Unbelievably we've been is a worse position than newcastle and still survived. Looking forward to wednesday now and if we put in a similar performance then the fat lady will be singing
It must hurt. If sunderland go down and newcastle don't it will hurt me immensely. Its not over yet. Newcastle still have a glimmer
