Sack him and appoint Nigel Pearson before Villa get their hands on him. Anyone still behind AN after today should be sectioned IMO
I feel like he is a decent manager but I'm on the fence. Been found out at this level. What I would say is that I'm not sure I trust the current board and owners to take the club forward to establish us in the PL. I just don't think they have the skills or ambition to do so. Can we change them?
I would keep him. He is a young newish manger who has had to learn a lot. If come end of Nov, whatever league we are in it looks bad, we move on.
Well said K E M P - that is the major difference between us and Leicester. They also have a VERY wealthy backer in Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and whilst I would welcome someone with serious money, I don't want it to turn out like has happened at QPR, Portsmouth, Blackburn etc.
Sorry KIO, I really do like you, I just wish you would be realistic about our team. We were pre-season favourites for relegation for a very good reason. It's not the manager, nor the board, it's the fact that until we stand a realistic chance of Prem. survival we cannot attract the standard of player we need to recruit.
Ahey? Chicken and egg Dave?! You need a manager and a board that the players want to come for don't you? The board haven't showed enough ambition if you ask me.
I read that Toby Alderweireld was happy to sign but we didn't pay the asking price also Afobe was set to sign but we wouldn't pay the asking price. Yet we blew money on other overpriced players like RVW Naismith and the Belgian guy. That's not good business, especially having 3 or 4 strikers all over £5m out on loan then loan in another 2 wasters. Buy mediocre and get stuck with duds.
And yet clubs of similar size, catchment, etc like Swansea (who can only accommodate 20,500) have adapted perfectly well - albeit the occasional blip, like most do. If NCFC was run properly, we could, would and bloody well should have done enough to survive this season - especially given the "worse than death" lessons meted out to the fans & board members two years ago. Have they not learned a ****ing thing from all the cock-ups they made just two effing years ago!?
Did you see how poor both sides were today? Losing with the wimper we did today is one of a long line of unacceptable performances. I don't think Neil has the faintest idea how to get us to s ore another goal. Bah!
I've voted to keep him. Hopefully with all of the close season to work with, we can offload the players who are no longer capable of taking the team forward. If we are to mount a challenge for promotion, the MINIMAL we require is 2 CBs (assuming Klose leaves) and a striker who can convert some of the chances presented (I'm sure Jerome has a worse conversion rate than Grabban!!!) Mbokani is pathetic!!! The lack of fitness shown by some of our players towards the end of yesterday's game is also concern and someone needs to look at Leicester's training/fitness regime and replicate that at Colney.
The trouble is in my opinion that last season my Mum could have got us promoted and she could come back in August and have a better than even chance of taking us back op. Balanced against this with the squad of mainly Championship players Sir Alex would have struggled to keep us up this year. There can't be any regular posters on here who couldn't have told you that we needed a goal scorer and at least one and ideally two centre halves s back from n August yet we started the season with no cutting edge and a sieve like defence. Neil has not helped himself with some poor team selections, tactics and substitutions but he also has not been helped by only having poor choices to make. We have picked up some better players but not enough and crucially not up front where Naismith and MBok have not cut the Colmans whereas Brady and Klose have been good additions even if Brady has been played out of position more often than not and Klose bought too late to make a difference.
I don't think there is a manager in the world that could get Jerome to score consistently in the premier league
Wish we had signed and put big money into a CB and a ST as we all have said constantly since we last got relegated. Every single fan, ex-player and pundit says it, and has said it for years.
