Well now it's confirmed we'll have to beat two teams to get promoted who we haven't beaten all season. Let's hope we give our all, not just the team, but supporters too. I'll be at both Derby matches and will have to get work cover for the final as I'm taking a positive view now, despite all that's happening around the club.
I feel a bit more confident after today's performance, defence still a bit suspect sometimes. Just hoping that Derby are now starting a bad run whilst we are on the up again. As for Wembley, well a lot of the team were there a couple of years ago so nerves might not get to them. I really hope they want their bonus very much and can just go out there and play like they did at the beginning of the season.
Us winning our game is a ridiculous thing to do stupid Bruce. Derby losing obviously give them an advantage. I cant work out how but it does. I just hate myself and my hometown club. Everyone is better than us. Whether thats better player, manager whatever they just are.
Keep it tight. First twenty minutes. Away goals count double. Keep it tight. Silence the crowd. Keep it tight. Pack the midfield. Away goals **** double. Five at the back. Keep it tight. Hit 'em on the break. Pack the back four. Frustrate the crowd. Keep it tight. Pack the bench. Pack a suitcase. Pack a punch. Keep it right. Play at night. Charter a flight. Away goals are worth a hand in the bush. Two hearts are better than one. Don't think twice it's alright. Hit 'em on the beak. Keep it tight. Get to half time. Slow it down. Triangles! Triangles! Nick one on the break. Don't concede. Look sharp. Use the bench. Last ten minutes. Crowd was like an extra man. Away ghouls count double. Get 'em back to our place. Keep it tight. Nighty night.
Away goals don't count. They were scrapped in 2000. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_League_play-offs#Changes_to_format
Ive always said this season on our day we are the best but haven't been consistent enough if the Hull city of today turn up we have a great chance but we all know how bad we can get sometimes. We have big players who hopefully will turn up for the play offs and perform that with a good away following and then a kc crowd which we all know at times can be very quiet but in big games like this can make a terrific atmosphere could be enough to get us to Wembley. How ever lets not forget we are coming up against a very good Derby side who have beaten us twice, yes Thorne is out but like us they have a big squad so will be able to replace him. I would say its 50/50. IM going to both legs and will do everything I can to support the team because despite all the off field problems the lads do really need our support which could be the difference. Come on you Hull
We will beat Derby, I'd put money on that, not too confident about the final though regardless of who it is.
Yeah, I perhaps should say away goals don't count double. No one could ever have accused me of being too accurate.
I'm the other way around actually. I am concerned about Derby - they are competent, and they have done us twice - we have never looked good against teams who have figured us out. We have held both Brighton and Wednesday. At the KC Brighton parked the bus. If we get to Wembley, I really fancy us, but two games against Derby, we will have to be at our best.
You're right…. they are a little better than Rotherham who 'were' on holiday….. whilst it was a confidence booster we've been lulled into this false sense of security before. Let's hope the real Hull City turn up and for 90+ minutes each game.
Based on what exactly ? Our annoying record of not losing at Wembley over 90 minutes in our three very recent visits ? Or us having a team packed full of current Internationals who have all played for their countries recently on the World stage ? Or us having a manager who has done it all before and frustratingly more then once ? Or the fact that we are hitting a bit of form at the right time, scoring goals and have a fully fit first team squad to pick from ? Based on that your pessimism is well founded.
Rotherham were on holiday ? Are you having a laugh ? Backed by probably their biggest away following eve,r they came to Hull to do us over. Warnock still pitching for the job fulltime and his team on an incredible run ( as were and still are Brentford). The way they celebrated the first goal wasn't the actions of a team on holiday. A team scoring first in their Cup Final maybe but on holiday ? Your having a laugh surely. City blew them away and could have had double figures. Credit where credit is due eh ?
Its nonsense to get carried away after one good win. Lets just have a good go at it next week and bring em back here shall we.
